So today, thanks to craigslist, I got a set of 14 inch oem hollow spoke rims with goodyear tires with plenty of tread left. 75 dollars picked up, fantastic deal!

There is a similar deal here for $100, but are 14's any good for track tires? Doubtful...?

No, let alone they won't fit over the brakes. Unless you have girly brakes.

Funny, the '90 I picked up a few months ago had the semi-hollow wheels on it too. Slap a set of Star Specs on 'em, and those will make decent DD wheels.

I wouldnt mind a set of hollow spokes with some 225 a6s or v710s so I can play in e-stock .

Dont the hollow spokes weigh like 8-9lbs? Thats only 2 or so lbs heavier than the lightest 14x6s you can get!

Dumb newb question...How do i tell if the wheels on my car are the hollow ones or not? Can you see or touch a difference? Or do they have to be weighed?

the 'hollow' ones are smooth all around where-as the 'solid-spoked' version is creased in (reach around to the back and feel the spokes to tell)
