Rota Grid Offroad | Toyo R1R

Finally got the Grid's in last week. Running 225/45/16 R1R's. at approx. 12"F 12.5"R. All fenders are rolled and I'm dealing with a little rubbing in the front where the R-package front lip screws in. Going to attempt to continue massaging til they fit perfectly.

Moar Camber....

I like those wheels though.

TheBandit 07-10-2010 08:55 PM

I've got it set up with what Shaik recommended alignment wise. Can't recall the #'s. I sort of did a mild roll to the front with the Eastwood tool, but I went back last night and rolled all fenders flat with a hair dryer and a 2lb sledge.

shlammed 07-11-2010 10:02 PM

those tires are huge.

Nagase 07-16-2010 07:10 PM

Only 16's i've ever seen that i've kind of liked. Well done. Ish.

eunos735 07-16-2010 08:12 PM

Those sidewalls are HUGE. I wanted to run 225's on my 16's but didn't want a 45 series sidewall. I ended up with 215 40 16's

18psi 07-16-2010 08:16 PM

What are the specs of the rims? Those 225's look meaty as hell on them, they look like 7's

Looks very good though

I was in Miami yesterday, I should have PM'd you.

blrx7r1 07-17-2010 12:55 AM

Very Nice!! Not sure what makes a 45 series tire look so large??

sixshooter 07-17-2010 08:06 AM

Rim width and offset?

TwoScoopsofHooah 07-17-2010 08:37 AM

most likely 16x8 +10

TheBandit 07-17-2010 11:09 AM

16x8 +20. I think they are the perfect offset if you want to be flush with the fenders. The tires are 1" oversize from stock but this is my second set in this size and I think it works out nicely. Coming from my 16x7 grids with RS-2's these 16x8 with R1R's look much wider IMO. I did have to do a full roll on all the fenders, remove the front fender liners and massage part of the front lip. Still having a little issue rubbing the rears at the autox last weekend. Might have to look into a very mild pull to fix.
Thanks for the comments. Kind of went out on a limb with this wheel/tire combo but I'm glad i did.

Im running the same setup and have plenty of scrubbing. Will probably roll em this weekend. I've been looking for two days for a good alignment setup with these. What are your specs?

Sam,

Per FatCats suggestions I am running 4.5* Caster, -2* Camber (F), -1.5* Camber (R), and either 0 toe or .125 Toe Out. I still get minimal rubbing in the rear at times but it does really well at autox days. I couldn't be much happier.. Well maybe on R-comps.. :)

Michael

Thanks Michael. That thing will be even more of a beast once you get the LS6 in there with the R-comps lol. Talk about rocket ship..

Hey how do you do degrees on a windoze machine? 'Tis easy on brand A as in 4.5º but I forget how on a pc...

Love these wheels and have it narrowed down to these or 6ul. I know with these I will have to roll. But if I were to run something like 215 40 (if they would even fit?)would I have to worry about the rubbing? I am pure street right now so seems like 225 might be overkill. Thanks.

Those are some serious meets.
