"slicks" or aero?
 

Looking to use up my points for classing.
Currently running nt01s and they are wonderful but for TT I feel like I'm leaving a bit on the table.

Thoughts were keep nt01s and do a splitter and a rear wing

Stock aero and get z214 c71 or r6's to use up the last of my points.

A6 before aero for TT... or R80 if you can

The following DOT-approved R-compound tires: BFG R1S, Goodyear Eagle RS AC (auto-cross), Hoosier A7, Hoosier
Wet DOT (if used in dry conditions—see section 5.6), Hankook Z214 (C90 & C91 compounds only) + 22
2) The following DOT-approved R-compound tires: Hoosier A6 + 17

(This is all I have points for)
3) The following DOT-approved R-compound tires and those with a UTQG treadwear rating of 40 or less not otherwise
listed in these rules: BFG R1, Goodyear Eagle RS, Hankook Z214 (C71, C70, C51, C50), Hoosier R7
Kumho V710 + 10

R7S, or SM7s would be my recc over aero. Lot more bang for your points. 205/50/15

Going the 225 route, I figured the r7s are probably a great tire and do have the possiblity of contengency. I'll be dyno reclassing. really no desire to run smaller wheels/tires at the moment.

Unless you are over about 200whp, the 205's will be faster on most courses. the points left over can be used elswehere to greater effect.

And cheaper, 225 R7 vs. 205 SM7; $248 vs $172.

on 7/8/9? I run my 9s on 225 45 15 nt01s and it feels pretty awesome.

So 225s are overkill? I feel like the 205 on a 9 is sketchy. Really looking to see if the points are worth it for the jump from my 225 nt01 to a r7 in 205( I actually gain 2 points going to the 205 r7. hmm I guess when I put it that way...

205 R7 on 9 is faster than 225 NT01 on 9. I just did it back to back.

But don't take my word for it- take all the national winning competitors who have been doing it for years now.

Nice what track? I was leaning towards the sm7s buttttt.

I'd go for 205/50/15 Maxxis RC1 on 15x8. The tire is a slight stretch as it runs narrow. The Maxxis are inexpensive and wear like iron and don't heat cycle out. I've found them to be right on par with Nitto NT01's, with a stiffer sidewall to boot. PLUS, if you're doing NASA TT, Maxxis has the best contingency. It's a win-win!
