Stripping paint and polishing NB OEM 5 spoke wheels
Has anyone tried stripping paint and polishing NB OEM 5 spoke wheels ? I want to end up with the attached polished finish.

Polished 5 spokes were an option on the 10th anniversary edition, might be easier just to track a set of those down. That said, I'm sure someone has polished a set at some point.

Standard paint stripper should do the trick, but I'd hate to have to polish the surface. WAY too much work.

I'd suggest you find a set of the NB8A /B auto wheels. They were my first mod to my NB8A 20+ years ago. They are a smooth finish, and a slightly 'semi-gloss' finish. They are not made by Enkei, and the casting marks on the reverse are quite different but they are the same size/shape as the stock 15s.. They would be a much better start for a polished wheel than the rough-cast stockers.
I thought the 10AE wheels were chromed? Either way, they are another option to give you that shiny surface. |
The wheels on my truck are "PVD chrome". Essentially, a powder coat system. Maybe you can find someplace that does that.
