Toyo R888R...possibly coming soonish...
|
No 225/45/15 according to the link
|
There is a 205 50 15
|
Full 32 dimension list should be available 2016 according to a Toyo UK rep I talked to in January.
One persons comments after testing: 1 sec faster than R888 in a 1:40 track. Designed to overheat a little later (after 20min instead of 12 to put some numbers on it) Only lost a little of the wet grip. |
Thank god they fixed that shitty tread pattern. They feel like tractor tires once you run them on track and roll up some rubber on em.
|
A rayon ‘super-high’ turn up ply on some sizes, combined with steel side plies, give the new Proxes R888R precise steering response and feedback to the driver allowing them full control of their race car to optimize its performance. |
I just ran this tire on my Miata 1.6l 191whp @ Laguna Seca. I replaced a set of older R888's.
First impressions: - Much better than R888's I replaced (mine were older and heat cycled too many times) - Don't "fall off" as quickly. The tire would grip well for longer I'm not really fast enough driver to say much else. Was clocking 1:51's at Laguna. |
Have you tried anything other than R888 though? Because pretty much everything is better than those tires, even all the hot street tire compounds that are out right now.
