Two wheel/tire choices. Help me choose.
15x8 with a 205/50/15 V719
15x9 with a 225/50/15 V710 280whp on an Rotrex NA. This would be for track purposes, not autoX. Would the weight advantage with the 205s on the 15x8 outweigh the traction advantage of the 225.. Or is a 225 V710 almost too much grip. What would a 225 NT01 compare to in a V710 for size. Also, the fact that I wont need fender modifications with the 205 would be nice. I have a line on extremely cheap new V710s which is why Im considering this. |
Is a 225/45/15 not an option? Its something to think about I dont know what sizes are offered for the 710's so this may not be a valid sugestion. That would be the size for he 15x9's if I were looking for a tire. Hell I have run 225/45 on my 15x8's and I like them. They would most likely work better on the 15x9's though.
Have a great day, Jared |
They do not make that size. If they did I would buy them.

9's are faster, quote savington

Yes, I know. Ive read it all. 225s on 9s are faster. But V710s are stickier than NT01s. And they fit big. A 205 is closer to a 215 in a V710.

Well looks like my decision was made for me. No more 710s in a 205. Only 225.

15x9, 225.

They are more of an autocross tire. 225's work best on a 9" rim Bob |
go 13's! ;-)

Can't.

I have run the 225/50 V710's the thing I don't like about them is they are a bit too big of diameter resulting in quite a bit of inner fender rubbing. 225/45 is a better size.
