Hi, would like to see data from more than 4 laps… autoX and 3-4 lap time trials are great, but a good portion of us run track days or race. We need the tires to last 15-20 laps without falling on their face. Your available tire sizes are great for Miata’s but honestly pretty expensive for an off brand tire. I paid $240/tire for my 245 Toyo RRs (probably the best 100 TW for track). I’d be tempted to try a set of the 285s, but at that price it would be better to pick up a set of R7s for a little more and have a tried and true tire that’s 2 seconds a lap faster than a 200TW tire

200 TW tires are mostly used by the AX crowd as they are soft won't hold up to more than 3-4 laps like a 100tw. For us, by the time our 50 second run is done, the tire needs to cool down. I did a high speed AX on a road coarse with CR-1's. The rears were cooked by my 3rd run. Couldn't even do the 4th.

GridLife used the RT660 in their time attack series which is a 200 TW, so I wouldn't discount all 200 TW for track use. Obviously something track oriented is going to be better, but they're usable IMO.

I'm sure it depends on ambient temperatures, alignment, etc... but I've been on track with the 660s as well and didn't feel like there was a significant performance difference after ~10 laps.

I’ve never had issues running 200tw tires on track for extended stints. I’ve ran rs4s, re71rs, ZIIs, and many others for hours on end. Not real sure where you’re getting your data that 100tw is longer lasting than 200tw. I think you’re confusing optimum/perfect grip with durability.

I'm not saying you can't track a 200tw tire. RS4's are not the same kind of 200tw as the top few either. Nasa classes everything accordingly and a RS4 is not the same as a A052 for TT. If you have a transponder, try 20 minutes on a autox top level 200tw tire, A052, RE71RS and then a 100TW like an RC1, NT01, Toyo RR and see how far you fall off on those 200tw tires. If an Autocrosser is using it, it is not a good track tire unless you are doing TT. Time attack is totally different than lap after lap.
