Default Wheel options: is there anything other than 6UL?

I am looking to move up to 9" wide wheels and 6UL's are the obvious choice, but I would like to see if there is anything comparable out there that I haven't thought of/seen.

Is there a 15x9 that is comparable in weight and strength to the 6UL that: 1. doesn't look like it is made of plastic and 2. not going to run me $500+ per wheel?

For those concerned with what they will be used for they will be wrapped with ra1's for the time being and see some autox and maybe a track day or two (if I can get it together before the end of the season) and thay are going on a na.

As far as quality, design, and weight specifically for the 15x9, it will be near impossble to find anything comparable.

There are tons of other options, but not in 15x9

The price is good, but I think those look like plastic. Maybe these are what OP was referencing.

I bet they look and feel like aluminum in real life.

I guess you could buy the TR wheel, but I'd rather give my cash to 949 than Tire Rack.

I had those. They're nice. Weigh like 15.5lbs though which is why I didn't specify it to OP

I didn't realize how light the 15x9 6uls are, Goodwinracing has them listed at 12.7lbs. I was thinking they were closer to 15.

Yes, the tirerack wheels are the plastic looking ones imo. In real life they aren't as bad but I still don't care for them.

viperormiata, do you know the weight on the varrs wheels? Not interested in spending big bucks but still an option.

I agree. I think they are butt *** ugly in the colors they come in.

You know, I'm actually having a hard time finding weights on the different size wheels. I've read 14.6lbs, not sure if that's for the 15x8 or the 15x9

They also make a 15x9 TE-37

I also tried to find some numbers without luck, I kind of fell like if they aren't publishing the weights than they aren't noteworthy...I could be wrong though.

They are probably the most populer, high end knock off wheel manufacturer. Super popular in the "vip" crowd. Their wheels are very top notch. They probably don't publish the weights because the "vip" slammed homos don't care.

I found the weight, though. the 15x9 TE-37 is 16lbs, the 15x8 is 14.5lbs.

No news on the CCW knock offs, though.

Rota has the k7 in a functional 15x9

In my research on the varrs, they make 1 size and adjust the offset of that wheel by shaving the hub. I tried emailing them months ago about a wheel and they forwarded me to some engrish speaking guy who didn't even come close to answering my questions.

There's a fairly exhaustive list of wheel weights floating around somewhere. Clubroadster I think.

If the streets in your town are made of marshmallows these are perfect, if not they will be bent on your first uneven spot

I love how much everyone hates on c3m's. Makes me enjoy them that much more lol.

I wish we had more options tho. It's either be like everyone and their father and get 6uls or be a loser like me and buy from tire rack

I know. OP requested cheap wheels, but those are just too cool not to post. I have a hard on for the 13x10's, just need to move closer to a strip...mmmmmm saucy.

For me, it's the ugliness. I can't get over the ugliness.

Agree about wanting more options. As for as the loser part I think any guy who drives a Miata pretty much has the opinion of not giving a F what other people think. If you like your CM3's who cares what the "community" thinks.

When someone wants to give me the extra coin to buy the UL's I will be happy to run them. Until that time (I assume will never happen) I will keep saving for the CM's.

Also there are different reasons for different wheels. The weight of the wheel matters to some to others not so much. I have 200+HP I don't think a pound or two will matter much... That and i am 6'1 270lbs I should more worry about the dead weight in the drivers seat than on the corners
