Wheel and tire width for an N/A miata
Hello guys, I have a 94 miata that has few boltons that I would like to race the upcoming season this year.
I was planning to go to street tire class which should be UTQG 200+ if the rules don't change from the year before. As far as power mods, I plan to have RB header and RB catback with a test pipe. And for suspension, I plan to have Xida coilovers with RB tubular 1.125" bar with 0.125 wall. Is there such thing as too much wheel/tire for this power level or will 15X9 with 225 will always yield the best results. |
Do an advanced search for posts by Emilio500 about tires and wheels. Tests have been performed. I believe 15x9 was the result for wheels. I cannot recall on the tires. Check out the BFG Rival thread for something new on 200+ treadwear tires.

Yeah, there's lots of good stuff here about that. From what I remember, no, there is no such thing as too much tire. But find that thread for more specifics.

15x9 225/45
15x8 205/50 I believe thats what everyone was agreeing on for common/good sizes. The x9 being faster. |
