Wide 16" AutoX Tire Choices

I'm going to need some new rubber soon and will likely be running some new 16x8's with a smaller offset. I'm currently on 225/45/16 RS2's with my 16x7's which are obviously no longer made. My two top choices are Toyo R1R's in the same size or Kumho XS in 215/45/16. Car sees limited miles and will likely see many upcoming autox's as well as being V8 powered in the next yr or so.

Opinions? Thought?

Thanks,
Michael

Nobody has an experience with either?

since you can fit 225/45/16, go with R1Rs. They are amazing.

Toyo T1R in 245/35-16

This tire will put you back to the stock diameter (so your speedometer will be correct again) but is much wider than stock. Plus, with V8 power, you're going to need more rubber for street driving.

Depending on how "limited" limited miles means to you,
Kumho has the Victoracer in several 16" sizes up to 265/45

I don't imagine you can actually fit a 25.4 diameter tire. Your 225s would have been 23.9 So add about 3/4 of an inch all the way around and make sure you have clearance for the suspension bits as well due to the width.

They aren't "the" autocross tire, but they hold up to street use better than most.

Of course if you want really sticky, Hoosier A6 of Kumho V710s but they won't last on the street at all.
