Billet Coaxial XIDA Top Mounts

I've been checking the 949racing store every day for 2 months, and I haven't found it for sale in the blemished, or new sections...

Anyways, anyone have these front and rear?

I'm waiting to send in my xidas for a rebuild for these mounts.

Thanks,
Marcello

I'll have a set of the old style 949 billet XIDA mounts for sale in 2-3 weeks if those interest you.

thumpetto007 03-28-2016 10:14 PM

I'm not sure, could you send me a picture to marmarchesini@yahoo.com? Are they coaxial?

jpreston 03-28-2016 10:19 PM

They're still on the car so I can't take pictures right now. I think they're functionally identical to the new orange ones. From google:

^cool, back when the XIDA had quality parts all over!

Count me in, if I dont' find something sooner. Keep me informed, feel free to PM with availability.

aidandj 03-29-2016 01:42 PM

Do the XIDAs not have quality parts anymore?

18psi 03-29-2016 02:31 PM

one (or more) of his clunks like a blown raceland without helper springs

its really really awful sounding

aidandj 03-29-2016 02:32 PM

2nd gen? Unless they've been abused I'd be surprised if they were blown.

18psi 03-29-2016 02:43 PM

they are not abused at all, either 2nd or 3rd gen.

I think something inside is loose. or something.

I didn't dare touch them because they were purchased pre-assembled and will be inspected by 949 or whoever it is that inspects defective ones

aidandj 03-29-2016 02:44 PM

Only 2 gens. They get sent to inertia labs in Texas. They treated me very well and covered my rebuild and return shipping under warranty.

18psi 03-29-2016 02:46 PM

cool beans. yeah whatever the latest one is what he has

thumpetto007 03-29-2016 03:44 PM

I just have issues with every single part i buy, regardless of how expensive they are.

thumpetto007 03-29-2016 03:45 PM

I'm not sure if it's Inertia Labs, but whomever Emilio told me to send them is where they are going lol

I was just very unhappy with the ill fitting and inexpensive needle bearings, lack of dust boots, missing collar locking threaded piece thingy, no allen key, immediate squeaking in the rear shocks, a potential rod/piston binding in one front shock, and inferior top mount (hence the reason for this thread) when the coilovers were actually designed to have the coaxial mounts. Just kind of disappointing when they still cost 2500 dollars.

aidandj 03-29-2016 04:01 PM

Umm, they cost $1800 without mounts. But yes, sounds like you got unlucky.

thumpetto007 03-29-2016 04:04 PM

I definitely didn't pay 1800, this was in July of last year? Idc, doesn't really matter now. Hopefully the rebuild and better mounts will be a sweet setup.

Sorry you have not been happy with your gen2 Xida kit. It doesn't sound like you ever contacted us with each of these concerns but I'll address them anyway:

1. The needle thrust bearings work perfectly as shipped. You may have additional expectations for fit but I can assure you, they work unless they are bent and no longer round.

2. Set screw or rubber insulator. We have plenty, if we missed it, just ask and we'll send you another.

3. Race shocks generally don't have dust boots. This is not unique to Xidas. You shouldn't have any issues. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

4. Allen keys are in every mechanics tool box. Just trying to make the kit as affordable as possible. We don't need to tack on a few bucks for a tool you already have. If you don't already have a set of metric allen keys, you're doing it wrong :)

5. Again, I don't recall speaking with you about this but sorry if there is a problem with the damper. If they are under warranty, we fix it. Not complicated.

6. Sound like you are not sure if you have a problem with the front damper or not. In any case, let us know, they're under warranty for another 3 months or so.

7. NB mounts work just fine. BCM's work better but sometimes we're sold out. We have had the BCM's in stock since you purchased your set. The option is yours. As the guy who designed them, I can assure you they were intended to be fully functional with OEM NB mounts. So no they were not "designed for BCM's" only :)

You gotta be proactive and contact us. There is a reason virtually every testimonial for Xidas is strongly positive. They're good. If yours aren't, pick up the phone.

Don't wait until you are out of warranty period!

18psi 03-30-2016 06:38 PM

I told him the same thing (about calling/contacting you asap)
He's a busy dude though, hopefully y'all can get in touch soon (or already have).

This is customer service hard at work. I'm so grateful for the advice and input given on and off the forums.

thumpetto007 03-31-2016 12:02 AM

Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this thread into a discussion like this. I'm just interested in the billet mounts.
