TB, I gotta question for you. We get fairly frequent brownouts here, and every time it happens while I have the XB360 on, I get a flashing three-segment red ring:

Thing is, this is a transient condition. I simply power cycle the machine, and it works good as new.

I've searched and searched and I can't seem to find any listing of what actual error codes the various combinations represent, just lots of offers to fix them, complaints about them, etc. Any idea what specific error this particular ring (flashing) represents?

Supposedly there's a problem with the laser on them. A friend of mine does the same thing, buys cheap, fixes them without spending money, sells them again working.

I never pay more than 50$ for one and I repair for $40 plus shipping I do the same thing that microsoft does when you return under warranty!

and Joe I'm looking for ones that have mainly three red lights constantly, yours is just a power supply malfunction because of the brown out and would probably do the same thing with a power surge I want the ones that you cant just cycle the power and its fixed, yours is not broke at all so don't worry about it alot of them probably do it during brownouts and power surges

PS: I also Mod drives to read backed up games (if you have the original)

Which is what?

My friend at work said he's just going to do the "towel fix" and trade it in.

I had a 360 with the RROD and looked up on youtube how to fix it. Mine was the magnet in the disk drive that holds down the disc. I fixed it and it worked, but I sold the xbox on ebay anyway.

Now I have a Microsoft refurbished Elite and I've had zero issue thus far. Except for the Fallout 3 DLC ******* up on me, but thats Bethesda's fault.

I've seen so many good deals on ebay for broken 360's. As long as your not in a hurry, watch, wait, and snag as many as you can. **** I've thought about buying and selling the things but I don't really have the time.
