Mega Squirt

So I've been running bandaids a little to long, and now that I have my engine out and building it I think its time to join the group and get Mega Squirt. Okay right now I'm running Bipes and Begi with 315cc supra's. I was running 14 PSI. Bad idea!!! I was doing fine, and the internals looked great, but the Mains didn't hold so well. Though I was shocked to see the bottom of the pistons weren't Heat melted. My local Machinist said eveything looked great!! I ended up rebuilding my engine over a small exhaust leak!! LOL Long story short I'm now running Wisco Pistons and all new internals, but its time to go standalone. I need some help though.

1st. Is it hard to build the MS kit? If so how much will somebody charge me to do it?

2nd. I have no idea how to program it, but I'm reading more and more, but any link to treads for a starter would help. I want to find that tread on programming a little faster.

3rd. On what I have now what kind of psi can I run after MS and lager injects?

HELP ME LEARN!!!

Well you got the wrong forged parts. Our engines have oil squirters, so generally pistons are fine, rods are the thing to go first. No matter your injector size, your engine will be limited to roughly 200-250hp, which is when the stock rods will give out. Trust me though, 12psi on band aids and 12psi on a megasquirt are two very different things.

The MS kit isn't hard to do if you know how to solder, but search around, a few guys will build one for you, including Braineack, Wayne Curr, and Jeff CUlkinksonksinamey, to name a few. Others I'm sure will do it, but Braineack is most likely the most popular on this board, and the other two are west coast locals.

Looky, looky, a full section dedicated to MS:

ZOMG! A sticky of very important threads! You better ignore that.

How to make and install a MS: they should really rename this thread, it's title is a little confusing, huh?

Hopefully this will get you started.

Cool I'm going to read through all these treads like the bible first. I started to download softwear starting with Megalogviewer. Anyother links to the softwear needed to run the system would help. I'll download it all like I have the MS and get my computer ready. Also I'll looking into those rods being my engine is still apart!! If I'm there I might as well go the whole 9 yards. Any all all else helps, any info. Thanks!!!

Go to DIYautotune.com, they have the software package you'll need to run everything. I'd hold off on that though, I made too many assumptions doing that with my MS, had to relearn everything once I actually had it. Don't worry though, it's a steep learning curve. Contact Wayne Curr, he'll hook you up.

Cool great start!!! I'm going to order the rods in a few minutes. Might just order a MS builder kit too..

For now Medford. Okay what rods would be the best? And what site for the MS builder kit?

There is a group buy on forged rods from M-Tuned in the group buy section. The price is nice.
