NB Coolant Temp OEM Gauge Sensor

The tiny little water sensor in the back exhaust side of the head that feeds my gauge cluster broke off. I've found several similar on ebay/amazon/autoparts stores, but can't find anything that claims to fit a NB Miata.

Is it just some generic part that fits tons of cars and anything will work? I found one that claimed to fit 90-97 Miatas and figured there's a decent chance that works. Anybody know where you can buy one or have one they want to sell?

NA will not work. The NB sensor is two sensors in one housing. NA uses separate for ecu/cluster.

Standard Motor Product TX85/TX85T works.

Mine definitely has 2 separate sensors.

Looks like this:

The little prong thing fell off and now my gauge cluster reads full cold, but megasquirt still reads an accurate CLT temp from the sensor you posted.

Did you add that? That's not OEM.

The sensor i posted is 3 wires. Signal and ground to ECU, signal to cluster, grounded through body of sensor.

I needed one as well when mine was lost in my swap on my NB. Bought a new one for 20 bucks at local parts store.

The 3-wire one that runs the gauge

WTF. This NB motor is a bit of a whore and was previously in my NA.

I assume when I swapped it back into an NB I just kept the Ignition/Fuel harness so I could reuse my injector clips and COPs. Apparently the NA and NB harnesses are interchangable so my dumbass must be using NA temp sensors on my NB, that apparently work fine.

So thanks for helping figure that out. No wonder I couldn't find the part that doesn't exist, I guess I'll just buy the NA sensor and call it a day. :eggplant:

The logistics behind that set my teeth on edge, but i'm glad you have a solution now.
