Default Remote Tuning

I have an MS3x in a 1990 Miata with a NB 1.8 swap that I need tuned. It is currently running really rich and idles poor. Totally stock except for a cold air and a exhaust.

Anyone willing to do e-tuning or remote tuning private message me with prices.

+1 for VladiTune. He tuned my stock motor, and is currently tuning my built motor.

I'm curious about the process and cost as well. Is there an "FAQ" post somewhere of what exactly a "VladiTune" offers vs dyno ?

Vladitune has helped me numerous times and has far more experience than I do at this. Even today he taught me something about starting that I haven't even considered.
I have done a few remote tunes and it typically can be anywhere from $400 to $1000 depending on what you want. I want $400 typically to make it start and idle normal, I imagine Vlad is even more. He probably will get you there quicker than I will.
Typically you send your TS project and a log, I make some adjustments and send a revised .msq file. You load the file into your car and take another log, wash, rinse and repeat.

Haha thanks gents. I’ve been asked at least a dozen times for a sticky thread now so I guess I better make one soon. And believe it or not, I charge way less than that

Just speaking from my own experience...

Tuners in the DC area want about $900-$1100 to tune cars (depending on fuel and configuration). While a competent tuner will be able to handle megasquirt, I've had shops outright say no. This is all fine and dandy, and they most do a great job of fiddling with the VE and spark tables to make power for a dyno. Their experience with the miata minutia, however, would be limited so it will never idle as well as it could, stall when fans kick on, cold start after 4 tries etc.... Shops can do a great job giving you a number on a dyno, even better shops can make your car run reasonably well but always with that premium.... Vlad on the other hand can do all that for less and with way more communication. You are an integral part the process, so you can see, and feel what each change does. If you are bold enough, you can peak into the map and see what was changed from the previous with every incriment.

The only downside for me was trying to find a stretch of road to do a pull when my car started becoming too terrifying to drive. But that's just vanity. Overall, the car has never run this smooth in it's life.

To make a long story long, I could have paid Vlad to tune 6 cars for what it cost in the past 3 years to get my car tuned on pump and then later on e85. Vlad's tune made enough power to slip a year old FM Happy Meal Stage 2 on the dyno; a clutch that FM still states to this day, "we have not yet met a 4-cylinder Miata that can make it slip."

As long as he is willing and has time, I'll continue to offer my money to Vlad to poke my megasquirt over a local shop that specializes in other trendy cars.

Another vote for Vlad here- fair price, great results. I had been tuning my car on my own for almost a year before I started tuning with Vlad; it was still totally worth it. It isn’t hard to get a car to run on MS, but it’s hard to get idle, enrichments, etc. perfectly dialed in- he’s great at it.

But what about that nagging yeast infection? Did he help that, too?

Default How to reach Vladtune or another for remote tuning assistance.

When E85 tuned 1999 MX-5 car starts it idles extremely high – around 4200 RPM for about 20 seconds. Otherwise it runs well at 11 PSI and 260 WHP.
