Turbo oil return and feed fittings, plugs, drill and taps.

I will be using the MKTurbo line kit, but i need the proper plugs and fittings within the next week.

turbofan and i will be pulling my engine (January 13th), and i want to drill and tap while oil pan is off, and engine is out. I will be naturally aspirated for at least 3 months, so this is to make my turbo install a simple matter once it happens.

I havent been successful in reaching Lars, so if someone else knows the size fittings his kit attaches to, and what plugs I need to buy, please let me know.

Also, i cant find the thread where there was a communal drill and tap for the oil lines, anyone have them for me to borrow?

Thanks

Lars website has the info you need for the fittings, why bother him with such simple questions you can EASILY find answers to.

If the engine is out, consider a weld bung for the drain. Also consider a bung for possible future temperature unit.

I think I have a Weld in -10 fitting that I don't need and would sell...if I still have it. Interested?
i might also have some -10 braided hose too.

because i want to purchase his kit.

And im not sure what type of plugs to get, what taps or drills to get...

I see the fitting sizes on his page, but i dontknow how that information crosses over to other measurements/sizes/tools.

Would you have a weld on fitting for oil feed as well as the oil drain?

The only thing you need to worry about is the oil pan. Either drill + tap for 3/8NPT (he lists that size for the pan) or if you're having somebody do a weld bung buy a 3/8NPT bung and have it welded in.

If tapping the pan:

3/8-18NPT Tap
9/16" [.562"] Drill

Personally, like others have suggested, I'd have the bung welded in as long as you have the engine out.

He supplies the TSE fitting for the supply side.

Thank you.

why not get a -8an bung to weld to the pan? Wouldnt that be one less connection to leak?

Some people do that. I don't because if, for some reason, the external threads or the taper face of the AN feature gets screwed up then you're going to pay a lot to fix it.

Don't over think it...

I get told this a lot. I have to over think, because im dumb, so my overthinking 80 iq is a normal 100iq.

But that makes sense aboit the fitting, thanks again.

I just installed a FM kit on my NA. I built up the motor first and one thing I had done ahead of time was to have a 10AN male flare welded in. I initially had it capped, pre-turbo. I have PS and AC on the car right now. It was a major PITA to fabricate and fit the 10AN hose. It was about $80 just for the welding (CA labor). If I could do it again, I would have saved myself the headache / extra $$ and just drilled and tapped myself to take a barbed fitting, using what came in the kit.

I have the drill (I think), tap, fittings, hose...everything needed except the aluminum adapter and gasket that fits on the turbo body. Let me know if you're interested.
