WTB: 99-2000 head or full engine

Basically, my head took a dump. cams and cam straps are destroyed. I need a 99-00 head or the whole motor asap. lmk what you have.

you may be able to have the bores welded up and bored back out as long and the head is not cracked, it may be more expencive than a head but we do it at work all the time

leatherface24 01-16-2009 09:53 PM

yeah thats a bit more work than i was looking for but thanks. its good to know theres other options

leatherface24 01-17-2009 10:02 PM

anyone? how bout just the head? 99-00?

patsmx5 01-17-2009 10:07 PM

If you could find a set of cams, you can have the old caps "shaved" and then line bored. Then put in new (used) cams. I'm sure the valve guides and all that are fine. That would be cheaper than a new 99' head and a machine shop can shave and bore the caps for ~200 probably. Just need some cams.

Also if you can find a 95-97 kia sephia they have the same bottom end as a 94-97 miata but they have the MBSP from the factory (like the 01+ miatas). Just have to clearance the oil pan you have to fit the new motors MBSP.

Just some ideas. Just giving you some options to consider.

Ouch! Didn't think they would be that bad... GL finding a head though. If I see one you'll be the first to know.

And your sig cracks me up. :) (more off topic, but peter pan posted his reroute pics on cr.net)
