WTB: Gen2 Xida Race Coilovers

As the title states I'm looking to buy Gen2 Xida Race Coilovers in good condition. I'm pretty much just seeing if I can get lucky on the used market before buying them brand new from 949.

Let me know what you have and please include spring rates and miles used if known.

Thanks!

For what you are going to pay for a used set, I would pay a little extra for the peace of mind of having something that is new.

High quality products don't normally become questionable with normal intended use.

Plus if I did get a "lemon" set of Xida's what's the worst that could be wrong? Maybe a blown shock? A damaged adjustment collar?

My point is 949 Racing sells replacement individual parts on their site for anything that could be wrong with a used set.

We're talking about coilovers here, not like I'm looking for a 14:1 compression motor boosted on 22psi hoping to cut cost by getting it used.

If I find a set great, if not I'll get a new set to my liking. Either way I'll be happy.

Can we see you build a 14:1 compression motor and run 22psi pretty pretty please

does the boost ever have to make it to the intake manifold?

Only for a single dyno pull

I have a set of fat cat 2 way adjustable remote reservoir coilovers I will be selling soon. With a variety of springs 450 to 800lbs included.
New these cost $3500.

I'm looking for $2200 for the package.

Low miles, used for nationals autox. Hardly any miles on them.

You obviously have no idea what a set of performance coilovers entails.

"Maybe a blown shock?"

Ok, let's look at that one. A front Xida is blown from the set that you've bought. You're currently out the cost of your outlay for the used set.
* you have to get the shock repaired
* but -- why is it blown? is it damaged? what is your full and total reman cost on this shock?

* AND
* you have to get the other shock sent in at the same time. WTF!?? WHY!?? Because no shock manufacturer is going to reman only one shock. They are going to want to have both, so that when they are sent back to you, they are equal. Because THAT's what matters most, that they are equal in pressures and in damping force. I guaran-damn-tee you that you will not be able to have one front or rear shock serviced without having the other sent in also. They (the shock manufacturer) will not do it. WILL NOT. Not without both shocks, because they've been there.

I have done this cost equation, unfortunately the hard way. The ONLY time I would buy used race coilovers if is I 1) knew the seller, 2) knew they had not been adversely impacted in any way, and 3) knew the lifespan.

As performance parts go in the performance world, Miata Xidas are inexpensive. Buy new, or buy from a known source, or understand the risks you undertake.

Why are you so angry? Calm down, take a deep breath, wuusaa.

I know a lot of shop owners and friends that work at shops all over Norcal. If I need one shock rebuilt, I'll have one shock rebuilt.

That withstanding I never brought up getting anything rebuilt.

949 sells replacements of pretty much every part of their coilovers on their website and that's probably the route I would go.

Regardless, why does it matter what I do, for you to be so patronizing? It's my money to spend when I decide to spend it and how is really irrelevant while I do appreciate your concern.

And as a former shop owner myself I'm well aware of any risk I have in buying used coilovers and also not adverse to dealing with the risk.

As "949" doesn't sell Miata parts, I'd say your chances are good.

Supermiata.com however, is your huckleberry.
