WTB: GReddy TD04

MInes is shredded like Mini-wheats. The compressor wheel was chewed up due to a bearing failure and the exterior housing of the compresser has a radial crack. I've got an AiResearch turbo, but its going to take some customization to make it work. Anyone got a GReddy TD04 for sale?

Price depends on condition, of course. If you have one you'd like to sell, PM me with details and a price. I'm happy to pay a fair price - and quickly.

you're going to have a tough time sourcing the turbo used, I'm afraid.

what's up with the old one, can it not be rebuilt? is there any physical damage?

Sounds like it is FUBAR.

god forbid I read.
OUCH. My condolences.

Unfortunately, this turbo isn't too common. They run around the same price as a ball bearing turbo. Is the other turbo you have a t25? If so, roll with it.

Greddy used this turbo on a civic kit as well I beleive. Might try some of the Honduh forums.

yeah tell me about it... 900-1000 dollars and a 4-6 week wait is what greddy said when i called a authorized greddy dealer and had them contact japan.

Go to www.forcedperformance.net and give them a call. Let them know you have a Greddy turbo off a Miata kit. Standard rebuild on turbos, with balance is $250. Replacing broken non-wear parts is extra. Sometimes they have shit laying around they will charge minimally for. And if you're nice and don't display idiocy, Robert may be willing to hog out your housings and put different wheels in for something special. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Also:

15G compressor parts on Ebay

It looks like the only odd piece of the Greddy 15G is the turbine housing, everything else has been used in other OEM applications, center section on Volvos and 3/S and compressor section on Volvos. Robert can probably help you out.

If you really want right now, one of the m.net vendors is selling new kits for $1250 shipped. He had 4 left when I looked last. IMO, it would be worth spending the other $200-250 to get another new manifold, downpipe, filter, etc.

I might be willing to take the rest of the stuff off your hands and the broken turbo at a later date if you go this route.

I definitely would not want to rebuild this turbo due to the crack on the exterior of the compressor housing. This turbo has lived a long life (80k - 100k or so). I was looking at the Mitsu TD-04s on eBay from that guy in Cali who lists them new for $265 +shipping. As long as the foot of the turbo is the right size, I can just buy an exhaust flange to weld onto my RM downpipe.

I have no friggin' idea what turbo I have on the shelf. It's some AiResearch turbo - from where, I dunno. The foot would require some modification of the boltholes to make it fit the GReddy manifold. Plus, it has some bolt-on flapper wastegate and a three-bolt, round exhaust flange. This turbo would be too much work to modify.

that;s what turbotim did, put a gt2544R on his greddy manifold and welded the correct flange to his RM DP.
