How much? I dont have one just wondering how much people are paying for used ones. Possibly a future build
|
Begi had one for $450 a month ago IIRC. They bring pretty good money. You don't see them used much.
|
$400-$450, I had a lead on one for $400 but the seller decided to keep it.

If so, I have one (I had 2 but sold one already). |

I'm waiting to hear back from Steph today on pricing for my upgrade. If I decide to sell mine off I'll let you know.

No; I'm asking you whether you (or someone else in the forum) know if the 2 that come in the Nissan R34 are GT2560 or not.

no.
it's a (G)T2XXX for sure....the rest would require a few measurements to determine. https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t31264/ |
meh, not really intrested in a mystery turbo. It really dosen't look ant different (size wise) than my 2554.

The GT2560R was used as a stock turbo on the SR20DET engine. The compressor housing however will be the bolt up type, like this:
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...41_4_part1.gif But you can buy the connectors to make it work from places like ATPTurbo. You probably know the rest, .60 comp/.64 turbine, ball-bearing, etc. You can confirm it's true identity if it has it's Garrett tag, it should have the numbers "466541" on it. |

I've been googling this before answering. I'll go to my tuner's shop (I keep it there along with other spare parts) and let you know tomorrow. |

Actually Rotor; this time I have to disagree with you. The engine of that car was the SR26DETT Twin turbo. The guy who sold me the turbos has a Nissan GTR-33 (6 cylinders). Here's a link: Nissan Skyline - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There's no such engine as the SR26DETT, there was the RB26DETT, I'll just say you meant that in the first place, the engine designations are a pain to keep up with anyway. The R33s turbos were journal bearing, not ball-bearing. Only the R34 RB26DETT had BB Garretts, which were either GT2860R (R34 N1) or GT2556R (R34) turbos. The main point here is that the turbos in the R33's RB26DETT are not GT2560Rs. They have a .60 a/r compressor and .48 a/r turbine, and the turbine wheel is made out of steel, not ceramic. They are smaller and only good for about 18-19psi before their turbine wheels break. I don't remember the exact designation for them, but IIRC they are T2530R turbos. Here's a rundown on the Nissan Garrett turbos for reference: http://zilvia.net/f/791317-post3.html Also, the picture I used came straight from TurboByGarrett.com, which says "OEM turbocharger on Nissan SR20DET engine". Since they provided the turbos to Nissan, I hope they have their information right. Rafa, when you get the turbo, I'd really like to know what the placard on the turbo says if it's still intact. It'll be a bunch of numbers, but they mean something. Like I said, if it's from an R34 like you were told, it's either a GT2860R or GT2556R, and the placard should have "707160" or "702987" on it. Anyway, it's good information to have while shopping for used turbos. Sorry Phil. |

Rafa, I don't want to start an arguement with you since we get along so well, so I'll give you a rebuttal as nicely as I can :D :

Ok Eric; now I need your help. Here are some pics:
What is it? Thanks |
That's a Garrett TE2701 turbo.
.42 a/r on the compressor as seen, the exhaust should be .48 a/r and it's journal bearing. After some research again, It was used on R32 and R33 RB26DETTs until they switched to the steel turbine wheels, which was the same size, but different Part Number. I'm guessing there was something that designated which version of the R33 got the .42 compressor and which one got the .60 compressor, because both sizes came on the R33. I always thought the TE2701 was just an R32 turbo. Learn something new everyday. :D More specs: Compressor (Considered a T3 housing) Wheel - 50 Trim Inducer - 42.51mm Exducer - 60.1mm Turbine - T25 Wheel - 62 Trim (Ceramic) Inducer - 53.8mm Exducer - 41.7mm |

What kind of performance could one expect using that in a Miata? Rafa, any pics of the flanges? __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |

Rafa, any pics of the flanges? I'll see if I can take some pics of the flanges. |
Agreed. Smaller than your 2554. Great starter turbo for someone that doesn't want a ton of power at the beginning.
|
I'm really leaning towards selling my GT2560r. Like new, only a couple thou miles on it (literally, like 2K), ceramic coated by BEGi. But $400 won't do it.

401$?

It's more than likely a journal bearing T25 with a t3 60 trim wheel on it, so a 2560 non-BB.
make sure that turbine flange is the same, the footprint looks more like a T3 inlet. |
