WTB: Lotus Elise Seat Brackets for my NA6
 

Finally found some Lotus Elise seats, and now I need brackets to fit them into my '91 Miata. I am aware of Flipside Custom's brackets, which are my backup, but since they re-use the seat rails they are not as low as you can go.

How low you can go will really depend on where you want to put your seat. For my preferred driving position, the rear humps interfered with the bottom of the seat.

I never found an off-the-shelf solution. IMHO, your best bet would be to cut out the rear humps and fasten some custom brackets through the floor. When you do this, don't forget that the stock mounting points are not centered on the steering wheel.

I ended up having some brackets cut and folded to my design. I futzed with them for a long time and still never ended up with a result I liked.

If you really want low, I don't see why you couldn't mount the Flipside brackets directly to the floor.

In short - unless you're a moose, save yourself the headache and go with the Flipside brackets.
