I need an exposed cam gear valve cover.

I can cut mine but don't want the downtime. I will also soon be doing COPS so having an extra for bolt-down plate fitment would be ideal.

I know levnubbin has regular ones for $35...but I'd spend a little more for one I don't have to cut.

haha along with the other stuff I could easily throw in one of those for $45 extra. I probably wont be able to go home and cut my spare until fri. though. I could even coat it for you

No offense, but seriously? With my $9.99 HF angle grinder and $4 cut off wheel it took me no more than 20 minutes, start to finish. This of course didn't include the clean up necessary to make it leak-proof once you're done, but you'll need to do that with any valve cover. Normally wouldn't care to post this, but I figure you can use all the money saving encouragement you can get. And if you do run out of time, I've heard the COPs can be temporarily ran without a bracket. At least until the next weekend...

Eh...you're right.

I need a damn cut off wheel anyways, and already have my >HF Task Force grinder.

Just need an hour undisturbed in the garage to make sure I get it back into shape.


My main concern was also dressing up the VC. Having an extra means I can take the time to take it up to work...sandblast it...then paint a few coats...then simple swap.


If I'm doing mine I'd have to polish/sand/or paint pretty darn fast since I now depend on the car.




I've got a few reasonable offers...will give it some thought.

btw...the adjustable cam gear came in yesterday...I really like it. Not sure if it will help me meet my goals...but it can't hurt.

Good deal, I'm jealous of your access to a sand blaster, cleaning mine was the most time cosuming part. Best advice I can give while cutting, is to do a lite scribe cut first, then when you're cutting to full depth it won't walk around, especially because you're cutting right next to the rounded edge.

I just ordered a Protege cover from one of our few lurkers that is a noob here but well-regarded elsewhere.

To me this is the easiest route. I can swap now and get to tuning, then cut/clean/polish(or paint) my stocker and sell whichever one I hate the most.
