Need one that is guaranteed to be good (no leaks, good clutch, bearings, seals..).

Thanks!

Hah! It's not bad, I've got the water injection spraying full bore in the cockpit! Yes, I'm too old and out of shape to not have a/c when it's 95% RH and 95°F out.

On my 96 1.8 swap to 91 chassis, it left the a/c compressor pulley very very close to the giant RB front swaybar. It's been at about 1/8" clearance for a couple years. After the 6sp install the pulley was touching the sway bar. I loosened everything up, pryed the motor/trans back and tightened it all back down. This gave the usual 1/8-3/16" clearance. While driving home from the last autox the a/c didn't work well and ceased to make cold air halfway home. On inspection, the pulley was into the sway bar and there was a black goo oozing from the clutch/pulley. So, I think I toasted the a/c clutch and who knows what else.

I'm thinking that R compounds plus brakes that work (adjustable prop valve on the rear) may make things shift. I need to fix the problem when I put the 'new' compressor in.
