WTB pre-assembled megasquirt
 

I will be running a 2000 engine in my 90 chassis, using the 90 wiring harness and cam angle sensor. I need a MS that will have boost control and IAC control and a harness to plug into the stock 90 harness, and I will be deleting the MAF and running an AIT sensor.

Braineack and Neogenisis2004 haven't responded to my PMs, so it appears they don't want the business. I'd like to get this soon (i.e., next coule of weeks) so I can get the car running. My soldering skills suck, and I don't want to ruin a kit by botching something up.

Maybe they are just busy...

Understandable Scott. It has got to be a headache, especially since you guys weren't making that much on top of the component costs. I am an intelligent guy, I don't think I'll have any problems with the install or figuring out how it works, I just know that I don't trust myself to solder it together properly.

Is Brian still building them, or is he feeling the same way you do?

Brian is too busy with his job and life to even get on the forum hardly let alone build MS's.

DIY will assemble and modify any MS you want.

Yeah, sounds to me like all you need is a regular 90-93 MSPNP. They come with the circuits for IAC and EBC already done, all you'd need to add would be a GM IAT sensor since you're pulling the AFM. Some software tweaks might be necessary to make it play well with the NB IAC solenoid and accommodate the larger displacement and improved flow of the '00 engine vs. the 1.6, but if anyone can help with that sort of thing it's DIY.

The only other concern I can think of would be the alternator. On the NBs, the voltage regulator in the alternator is controlled by the ECU. The "easy" solution would be to grab an alternator from an NA 1.8, though at least one person here (AbeFM) has successfully gone standalone by using a small aftermarket regulator to control the stock NB alternator.

you can use the 1.6 alternator as long as you keep the 1.6 crank and water pump pulleys since they all use a v-belt instead of ribbed like the 1.8s.

or you can use the new 2000 crank and water pump pulleys with your 1.6 alternator if you change the pulley on that. you'll need an impact gun to get the nut loose though

or jump up and down on a breaker bar to get the pulleys off:dunno: is there a difference in performance between the ribbed or v-belts?
