WTB: Someone to help wire vTPS
Hey guys I have used both a Wells TPS and a BMW TPS, but no matter what I do I can not get it to give a WOT reading.. I dunno if I am doing something wrong or what, but I'm so furious that I will pay someone anything to get it to work correctly.
I live in Northern VA so if anyone can help out please pm me so we can work something out. |
?
Hate to ask but after ur install, it has to be adjusted via a volt meter. Just wondering if u did.

U need to adjust it from the signal wire. Closed throlltle should be very close to one volt and wot shod be close to 5v
|
what ECU are you using?

Ur not adjusting the signal wire, ur adjusting the tps. Ur using the signal wire to verify voltage at closed throttle and wot. Go to youtube and search adjust tps. Doesnt really matter what kinda car they r using the all adjust the same way.

I am using a MS3x. It has already been configured to accept a vtps
you are both making this soooo much harder than it is. go to tps setup in TS with the laptop connected to the MS, click the "set low threshold" (or something like that) button. floor it, click the "set high threshold button" DONE!!!!!!!!!! freddy, youre an idiot |
That is the problem is that both the closed and open throttle numbers are the same so the vTPS is not reading the position of the throttle correctly.
The ECU does read a number from the vTPS it just won't change so the ECU is seeing something.

In either case, you dont need to adjust a thing on the tps, dont listen to freddy, he doesnt have a clue. What year is the car? And how (specifically) did you wire the TPS into the stock harness? |
i think this only applies to 1.6 (90-93), but heres how i wired mine:
wiring is color accurate to the wells tps and a 90 miata 1.6 https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...86e7600c5b.png this is with an ms3, not x, so your input pin is probably different, but everything else should be the same. again not sure if it applies to 1.8 as far as colors |
Also make sure 5v is coming from the MS. If there isnt, check the small fuse on the board. If you wired the TPS backwards, itll short 5V supply to ground and blow the fuse.
