WTB: T3 Manifold, Downpipe, and BOV

Tell me what you have and how much you want for it. Browsing for some stuff for my T3 turbo setup. I have a 1996 Montego Blue, so, it's a 1.8. Thanks for looking at my add!

Ben 04-03-2008 10:31 AM

1.8 or 1.6

T3 Manifold

This would not fit my NB with the trubo i chose to use. Was designed to use on a NA 1.8 with a garrett 60-1

Does not include the wastegate.

Make me an offer.

sbrian2 04-03-2008 11:05 AM

Why would it not fit? I am interested if you think it will fit my 1.8 swapped '90 with a T3/T04E 50 trim. I am assuming by the wastegate dump position, that is a top mount?

Yes top mount. I have no way of knowing for certain if it will fit your combo.

Zabac 04-03-2008 11:13 AM

That's one seriously good looking manifold, it looks like a top mount though. Pretty much what mine should look like only I want a bottom mount...

ps-please tell me that's not pink IC piping there...

Why did it not fit your car? Where was there interference?

Pretty sick looking. Just needs some relief cuts on the flange.

it put the GT2860RS with the T3 housing too close to the master cylinder for my liking.

I wish I had pics for ya but I don't.

Yes, very sick indeed I wish I could have used it..

The guy that made it said it had a life time warranty if it wasn't altered from his design. I'm not saying you are wrong only that it might be better to have him do the cuts so you can keep the warranty.

This is the shop that made it.:

Any closer than this? It looks like similar placement, just longer runners.

cjernigan 04-03-2008 11:28 AM

Looks like the manifold that Autolab custom built for someone, they're based in Louisville. It semi resembles the ETD racing manifold and I specifically remember someone saying that ETD has seen more failures in their manifolds that had relieve cuts than in manifolds without them.

MX5-4me 04-03-2008 11:30 AM

on my NB it placed it about one inch to a half an inch from the MC. Not sure how it would be differenet on an NA 1.8.

cjernigan 04-03-2008 11:32 AM

It placed the turbine housing 1 inch from the MC? Must have been a seriously large turbine housing.

PAT! 04-03-2008 11:33 AM

Is it just me or does the flange look very warped?

MX5-4me 04-03-2008 11:33 AM

Shit man you aren't that far from me. We should meet up so you can look at it.

sbrian2 04-03-2008 11:34 AM

Shouldn't be any different, that is my concern. I wish you had pics to show the placement.

That is what I was told.

It's that housing in .63

I'm tearing my car apart this week, if you want me to test fit it with photos that would a simple task for me to perform. You're about 200 miles from me, make a roadtrip. Then you can see my BEGI kit as well to see if that's what you want to use in replacement of this setup.

I may take you up on that offer. although I do have a BEGI set up now. I'm sure having some pics of this custom mani installed would help sell it though.

Looks like we'll have nearly identical setups then considering we both have the S5 manifold. You just happen to have alot larger($$$) turbo than I. Is that a brass check valve in your coolant line?

It's just a reducer to go from the 3/8 hose connection on the turbo to the 1/4 hose where we connected in to the coolent system. I'll more than likely change all my hoses to SS at a later date and clean that up.

Yeah I spent an ass load on my turbo. not sure how smart it was but what is done is done.

hackerchris 04-03-2008 01:15 PM

The only problem I would have with using that custom manifold would be that it might not fit my turbo either. The picture you have of your current setup, what manifold exactly is it? It looks like a cast one, is it? Did you have to use a custom downpipe for it too? You still have an external wastegate in there somewhere?

The Mani i'm using now is in my sig..

BEGI S5 it's cast and externally gated. I used a custom DP but BEGI will make one up for you i'm sure.

So with your Greddy EMU you were able to get 660s to work well? With MS I always thought that 550s was about tops on where you should go to control them.

MS can control just about any injector you want, it just depends on how rich you want to idle at. With Hi-Res firmware you could idle 660s no problem.

Idled fine with 660's but I pulled them because the place I bought them were known to have issues with their injectors.. Rather than risk it we pulled them and put in 550 cc RX7 injectors. The 550’s should be fine for now.. I won’t be cranking up the boost and running e85 for a while..

What are your future plans with that nice turbo? ;)
