Default Tuning help...please...

Hey all,

So the past week I've been taking advantage of some quiet time at home and got my EBC working and configured the jumpers on my Adaptronic Select to let the factory ECU control the idle. All I can say is OMG this car is nearly perfect!!

Anyhow, I am chasing this issue that I can't seem to get my head around. In essence my issue is that when I take off in first there is a lean spot just where I get my clutch out and hit the throttle. My AFRs go into the 16s and my car bogs until it gets into the next cell. The thing is, the cell is also right where my idle sometimes dips when a load kicks in. So I have it as fat in the fuel as I can without stalling with the idle thing... but taking off in first I'm too effing lean. It's all happening near 40 KPA @ 1000 RPM and the cells going into 60 KPA...

Attached is my MAP and I'm open for all suggestion. Right now the car is the best it has ever been and it's getting close to making me happy. Still working on smoothing out the cells to make the AFRs constantly in the 14.7 range in cruise... it's decent but far from perfect..

FWIW, this MAP is great for my car... cold starts, warm starts, idle, AC... all of that is really damn good. I was focusing more on drivability (sp?) than on raw power. Of course if anyone sees an area where I can do better... I'm open for input.

The configuration is Adaptronic Select, BEGi 2554, IC #1, 600cc injectors, BEGi cold air intake box thing, VVT is on, AEM UEGO on serial, Spek gauges, Spek 6 puck clutch, IK22 plugs, and some other goodies.

Thanks all and feel free to try this MAP if you like. I calibrated all of the sensors recently and dead time correction for injectors is all in there ... so if you have a hiccup... this MAP could be a good place to try.

Cheers,
M@

So transitions are screwed up? Your predicted map table looks wrong. Set the asynch value to 150 and enter the correct settings for your vehicle. If you need help how to find them let me know.

Yeah, I had messed with them some time ago to cover another problem that I had.

I guess the main question I have regarding the tables is... when I am driving and I can hold say 5% TPS @ 2k RPM... is this the value as I am driving stable... or is it based off of stabbing the throttle quickly and looking at the value?

Any pointers you have would be great since I am running off of assumptions at this point.

Thanks and cheers,
Matt

Correct, driving at say 5 tps at 2k rpm will give you a close enough value within 5kPa. From there add if its lean, subtract if its rich assuming your fuel map is perfect.

In boost it will be the opposite, it will give you rich value as the turbo will be spooled if you're using the above strategy so you'll need to subtract due to turbo lag you'd only get when u stab the throttle.

What I did when i was doing my map was i'd get it close enough on the predicted map, then adjust my fuel map and then keep narrowing down until i get it running good.
Usually the predicted map doesn't change much once its set. The smaller the number on the asych value, the richer your prediction will be so jump to 150 and start tunning from there.
