Those are "Its been making some noise for a few months now, should I have brought it in sooner?" failures. Go do what i said, get the pressure off if there is any. You have some time.

Disclaimer: like anything it can self incinerate by tomorrow.

Auto-x this weekend. Track day in 3 weeks. Going to buy some more wobble extensions and find someone to help me bench press.

Any reason to get an OEM TOB over a Napa brand or whatever?

If you order a Mazda TOB, I have one sitting in a box I'll trade you. I don't need it soon. Also have RMS, input seal, and input gasket. It's for my DD, but I'm debating selling the engine to Nail, putting in Richard's built motor and forcing him to buy it when he's back from New Zealand. And then the 187k 6-speed will be rebuilt with said parts and go in the smurf.

You can see why I'm hesitant to start that project, with 4 current Miatas and 6 engines at my house. Only 1/2 of which run.

Let's do that. I'll try and pick it up tomorrow or something. I'll text you.
Also. You need a bigger garage

Forgot about my 2 wheels off at the end of turn 2. Tracked out just a wee bit too far. All the undecoating is scraped off the frame rail and the thing looks worse than it did before. I think some frame rails are in my near future.

have fun with that clutch / TOB swap. for the best results, I suggest doing it at a race track in 90+degree temps. on your back. on blacktop.

I did it last week when I swapped the trans. I have these big 6 ton jack stands that make it a lot easier. And an impact.

^ Those are absolute junk. Only get one if you want a tranny to fall on you.

Make a wooden cradle, and bolt it to the top of your regular jack. Secure with ratchet strap. Works surprisingly well.

My transmission jacks bro.

Also....**** draining the fluid. Going to use an old 1.6 driveshaft as a plug. Because I'm not spending another 40 on unicorn juice.
