3d printer is 10% ready. Now to figure out the honeycomb in the print, I think the extruder is slipping on the filimant or something, maybe some corner extruder acceleration settings? This the part that's gonna suck, tuning it the rest of the way.
Fedex was a pain in the ***, didn't bring the package to the fedex store like I asked, left a note on my door while I was there, brought it 45 minutes away and said "**** it" till Tuesday.
**** that, I paid for fast shipping so I could set it up till tuesday. They actually brought it all the way back to the fedex store, finally got it at 9pm...
Amazon is pretty good at making fedex do their job, ******* pathetic that's what it takes.
My extruder settings are wrong or something is jammed up. I though the filament might be slipping on the hobbed drive bolt, but that's not it. Now I'm going to go after software and see if I can't make it squirt more plastic or something.
I got it to print a cool pattern though, I still think this is gonna be one badass 3d printer for $400 bucks, once I get it dialed in. I can't hardly see the layer height, and this is double the minimum layer resolution available.
I had to stop it early when the X axis belt popped loose and I lost a few steps.
That's my surface finish tester, besides how else are you supposed to stay awake long enough to fix one of these printers?
It's getting better, better enough to maybe print brackets tonight. I scaled the test model down 50% and turned the extruder up to 150% fill. The two shell layers and infill passes are still having adhesion problems, if it would extrude twice as thick it would be flawless.
Maybe I have wrong nozzle settings?
Tiny little thing is only about 1" tall. Prints quick though.

Well that one didn't work so I put my BMW tps back on. And it worked! Holy ****, TPS based accel enrichment is awesome. No more bogging and jerking off the line, I can step on it anywhere without being gentle with the gas. Halleluja.</p><p>Track day on thursday.</p>
<p>Nope, wires were not rearranged. Just cut out the old janky wires and re-wired cleanly. There weren't any signs that anything was touch, was just not very clean wiring.</p><p>My friend with the 3d printer is taking forever. I really want these done by MRLS.</p>
I used to think I didn't need accel enrichment either, I'm all super aggro with it now and have it set to something like 25-50 tpsdot when it starts kicking on. I like it, lots.
I think I figured out what's up with my printer being a bitch, it's got a hobbed bolt on a stepper motor directly driving the filament down into the hot extruder. That stepper motor was getting hot, then the hobbed bolt would get warm and start to melt the plastic on the hobbed bolt instead of feeding it down like it is supposed to. That with the fantastically shitty hotend and alignment would make the filament bind and quit extruding.
So I got this, but I think it's close enough for what I need. I'm gonna try fitting it later tonight.
