What kind of carb?

Newbie mistake #1: installing choke backwards. Won't run worth a ****. Make sure you haven't done this.

Before I forget, I need to give you some package opening instructions.
The panel with the rainbow cats is the top. After you cut along the long edges open from the red Cat side. Don't cut along the purple cat side.
After that, you need to cut the Unicorn straight down the middle before opening the final layer.
Good luck!

There are a fair amount of electronic components and propellants.
Hence my fear of it being x-rayed.

So many questions!

Is your base timing correct? When was the last time you hit it with a timing light? After that, set the points, or at least make sure they are opening and closing. Use proper feeler gauge or fake it with a matchbook cover. I've used my drivers license in a pinch. Does it idle with the vac line off the distributor? Did you **** with the mixture needles? Did you zero them out and start over? Do you have a vacuum gauge? Do you have fuel? Did your fuel pump **** the bed?

I think I have a scan of the actual Ford service tech manual for the Motorcraft 2100 somewhere. I know I've got the 4100 and its almost exactly the same. I can send it over if you think it'll help.

Who are the, um, 'experienced' guys on this forum who know how carburetors work?

Base timing is kinda close. It idles so unevenly I can't get a good reading on it.

Points are new, and set to .019
I have a vacuum gauge. I kind of have fuel. Maybe I should replace the pump. But it does have pressure, and squirts when i crack a line. (ask my eye how i know)

I wish I had a ******* wideband. I can't tell if its too rich or too lean.

To-do list tonight.
New wires
New condenser
New rotor cap.

I have moved twice since the **** confetti package. Just found some cleaning last night. It also made this video possible.

If there is no obvious water in the gas then it's ignition. Anything that you can drizzle gas down the carb and run isn't that sensitive on the fuel side. Unless you have a clog in a jet maybe?

o2 port....funny guy. Its a 72 F'100.

I seriously doubt its water in the gas. This truck gets driven quite often, and i filled it up right before it started acting up.

I'll try and find the video of reving it. I open the throttle, and it sucks in air without reving, then suddenly revs up.

First thought is clogged jet. Spray the hell out of it with carb cleaner.

Edit: Sounds like it's not getting fuel. That means that the float is leaking, or the needle valve is dried out and letting the fuel run back, so it takes a second to catch up.
