So my home depot exhaust side catch can was both a success and maybe a failure. I'm getting lots of oil smoke when shifting after boost. I'm wondering if blowby is going out the valve cover and then getting sucked back in. I'm going to try a confusing check valve setup and see if I can get it to stay clean. But otherwise the catch can has been catching a lot of oil.

Kinda like dis

Green are check valves.

Interested in seeing yours I've decided I have to cut my PPF down to about 40 inches forward of the center of the front diff bolt hole to make mine work, and bolting something to the PPF there at the top is going to be hard because there's not much surface.

Your picture is odd, and not just because it gives Picasso seizures, but the filter and catch can relative location are weird. Usually you have a line going from the vc to the catch can and then the filter. This drops most of the oil in the can before it gets vta.

Please take pictures ILO drawing them so I may understand more betterer.

So what I currently have is what you described. But i think its sucking oil back out. So I want to add check valves. Green arrows are check valves. Lets air out into the catch can, but keeps the air fresh that comes in.

Had an excuse to do some welding today. 304ss to 409ss

I don't think check valves are necessary. Just make sure that the hose going to your catch can has a nice, gentle fall from the valve cover to the can without any low spots. Just like with the turbo oil drain, you do not want oil pooling in the hose.

Hmmm, I didnt think about that. Its pretty level right now with where my catch can is mounted.

Just a filter on the breather didn't give me this issue. It was only when I added the can.

No sir.

I'm going to put a filter back on and do some back to back tests just to make sure.

I'll try and find a video. But its a solid smoke cloud.

Just dropping in to say thanks for letting me take your skateboard around the block even if I had to adapt velociraptor arms.

Also, I think your Xidas ride a tad harsh after slipping into my steed today or maybe it was your bushings. Yeah could be bushings.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I would get banned.

One of the 2 VVT motors in my garage will eventually get this.

Thinking: T5 swap this winter. Collect parts next year. Build motor that winter.

Or if I try and buy a house in the next few years nothing will happen.

Also to be clear, the decision to purchase this turbo has been on my mind for a while.

This is what finally pushed me over

Wow.

I would show some of my text conversations about car parts with my beloved except I don't think I have any to show.
