Dip was the wrong word. I meant the abrupt flattening. It is like you rolled on the throttle just before that point or something.

I was going to ask if you had a plot that showed Throttle position. If that was all WOT I am honestly not impressed. I know it was not fully tuned and you had a catastrophic failure but a plot showing a powerband that only comes in full force at 5k rpm is blah. I will be in to see results for the next attempt with a full tune though.

You guys realize he's running an authentic gt3076r right?

Bryan - so was vvt active in that plot or not? Because if its not, there would be a pretty hefty increase to midrange torque and spoolup

I realize these turbos are huge and all about the top end but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I am not criticizing. I just do not understand the point at 4900 or so rpm. For my understanding on how to read a dyno graph is the reason for the question.

This dip you are noticing at 4900 is simply my boost stopping at 22-23 psi. It will plateau like this wherever I set my boost level. This point kept climbing as I increased boost, however this is where the head failed.

As far as the spool up - this is with no VVT tuning so I could give less flucks about what the ramp looks like. Please show me a car making similar power that holds that steady of a torque curve. Please.

This is also a 3076 turbo not a 2860. I posted this because you were asking about my torque curve. It does not fall off like 99% of these cars that are on the rollers.

Again – this is not a final plot, it may not have even been a full WOT pull. Just an example of my TQ not falling off.

I hope that anger was not meant for me. I was just trying to figure out why it was there.

lol. Not angry. I understood that you were simply trying to understand the plot.

Have you had any chances to investigate the damages, Bryan?

Yeah it looks normal for a 3076
Without torque or power falling off all the way past 7500 means this thing would be a rocketship on the highway.

Can't wait for final results. It looks very promising. Hope the valve didn't do too much damage so you can repair with the quickness

If you are referring to the "knee" in the 5000rpm range, that is probably where the boost controller stopped allowing the manifold pressure to increase any further, but allowed it to maintain that pressure from there on up the rpm range.

A note on Valve springs.....I had a set of 94 springs tested to compare to a set of 99 springs and at the height where the 99 springs produced 50lbs the 94 (95 is also suppose to be higher) produced 65lbs. I am sure Bryan will rebuild this to a once again badass machine built for what he likes. Personally, I want a more "civil" "street" car. My car will please me, his will please him.

Thanks for putting it out there Bryan!

Have not even made eye contact with the little bish. Regardless... I will absolutely need an upgraded valve train

I know some stuff came up about cams earlier. Are you going to stick with the factory ones or go with something new there since your going to be in there? So sorry to hear about your motor, as always you are an inspiration. Keep up the awesome work.

I’m sticking with the stock cams. The spring package I picked up at a bauce price, I went with the Dual 74lbs springs. Should allow me to rev it out to about 8k and take advantage of that power up top.

Snagged this set (the 74lb set):
Supertech Valve Springs Mazda Miata 1990-2005

The only thing I'm impressed with is the low boost for 400whp.
It took me 28psi to reach the same - but that was on 93oct.
