Default A busted M and a missed deadline

Well, here goes my build thread. I've been slow in posting this mostly due to not having time to get to posting. But the upside of that is the build thread will move much faster to catch up with the present. I bought this beauty for $800 off of a poor sap that couldn't afford to finish his project.

Those are the earliest pictures I have due to an unfortunate event involving the death of a camera. Stock motor with 'rod knock' included. Busted fender and door. Wrecked at some point in the drivers quarter as well (didn't find that out until it was too late).

The original plan was to swap all the goodies into the wife's exceptionally clean 91. Well that plan went out the window and the rebuild began. I bought it in April and the goal was to have it finished by the time school started back. So, the tear down began.

I hate spiders.. but they aren't so scary when you wrap all of their feet in tape so you know where they belong.

Then the motor just jumped right out of the car.

Off to happy machine shop land the motor went. Remember that 'rod knock'? Well the machinist reported back saying the crank was "slick as a ribbon." He thinks it must have been piston slap. Hooray.. use stock sized bearings... a week later this is what I get back.

Supertech 9:1 and M-tuned rods. ARP main studs holding it together should hold quite a few pounds of boost.

Then I slapped this bright purple UFO on one end. <- Huh.. he's the same color.

And I'm tired of typing for now. More tomorrow...
