Thus far I have failed to find a place that can roll and pull my fenders. I'm gonna ask in the "now that it's warm thread". Some body shops say they can do it but I don't trust them. Oh, I called up some porsche shop "TPC Racing" in Jessup. I said I was looking to get that done. They asked what kind of car I had, and upon hearing I had a Miata the guy said No, we don't do that. Go ******* **** yourself TPC Racing. One day in the distant future when I start doing time attack and track days my car will **** all over the face of your weaksauce customer's cars.

Today I pulled off the compressor cover for my combine turbo and whipped out the micrometer. Here's what I found:

I don't know if I am measuring it properly. Whatever. The sizes are about right. 66ish mm inducer, 93ish mm exducer. BTW check out those extended tips on the exducer blade. Ooo000 Also, wow, what nicely trimmed thumbnail you have Faeflora. Thanks. I have started keeping my nails short ever since I stopped wearing nail polish.

This is a ridiculously expensive 7 pound piece of glorious potential energy. That flange is indeed 3/4" thick. Since my car is currently operating and on the road, I am going to set up my hydra solenoid to work with this puppy. I have some vacuum lines running to the cabin (no, not the MAP sensor line) and I will set the bastard up on my dashboard or in my lap. The hydra boost control sucks *** so this may take some work. The actuator is 12psi and I think I will want it to open at 17psi or so. Ideally, I'd like to boost my combine turbo to 30psi (why the **** not?) but I think that even after installing my AFPR I will end up maxing out the fuel pump around 25psi which may be in the high 500s?

As my fueling system sits right now with the stock returnless system and 60ish psi base pressure (which is not vacuum referenced AFAIK), my injectors are seeing around 70% DC @ 8000RPM. Assuming my car is making 370hp at the wheel with my ~18psi level of boost, that means if I maxed out the injectors, I would have enough fuel for around 530hp at the wheel assuming the same AFR. If I go to -6 fuel lines and 80psi base pressure with an AFPR with manifold reference, that would mean I would have enough fuel for... ____HP Please someone fill in the blank.

Even though those QSV's are outlandishly expensive, they look to be quite well made. Manomanoman I can't wait to see this bitch done.

Have you decided on a manifold or manifold design yet?

At this point, whatever will fit. This QSV is going to make it even harder.

This just in:

I absolutely hate Aquamist's failsafe system. I just got back my board from england and after spending 3 hours testing it, it still doesn't work. This is after Mr. Aquamist himself looked at it and pronounced it to be fully functional..

Before JayL and I came to East/West coast forum fisticuffs, he kindly recommended a Snow Performance system. I'm gonna look into it.

AEM's got a trick system too with failsafes (flow meter), along with a trick display to show it off at trade shows. Made me ooohhh and aaahhhh. Not cheap however but probably along the lines of the "good" aquamist stuffs.

EDIT: This. Only ~$260 retail. Win.

I recommended no such thing, but you might want to check out Labonte Motorsports.

The valve looks great and the turbo should be plenty big. You just need to bring your car out to frederick and we will do the fenders the old fashion way. Heat gun, baseball bat, some duct tape, and some news paper. Done deal. We can do it sunday afternoon if you want.

Not bad. I spent 3 more hours today testing the stupid aquamist system. Verdict again: broked.

I hooked up my oil cap with a bung to a hose and a vacuum gauge. At full boost, I have about 1.5psi in my crankcase. I don't see vacuum at any point on the gauge, even in cruise. I have some more stuff to test out after which I will report in the catch can thread.

Today I did some more highway racish stuff vs a new model wrx with an exhaust and ???? Same deal, walked and won with my car pulling on him over 6000RPM. Huzzah for before, at 190hp, I lost to a bone stock rex.

I then chased down and pulled alongside some z06. I have been dying to race a z06. Inside the z06 was some guy who looked like his other car was a buick. I vroomed at him and his man-friend and they just laughed and waved. I tried to incite him but he wouldn't go faster than 55 :(

Nice win against a slightly modded wrx. The exhaust and cobb ecu reflash on the wrx I had made a huge difference over stock.

Poll:

Who thinks I should say "**** YOU" water injection system and install a separate fuel cell and pump for meth, weld 4 bungs on my IM, and install four real injectors plus a fuel rail?

I've considered something similar as the AEM ecu makes this simple. And FM has a few lower intake mani's with bungs already welded on there for cheap, on their DEAL OF THE DAY.

You might as well just run c16 or some other type of race gas in the extra tank.

I agree with aric, just run a race gas tuned and a pump gas tune. Meth injection scares me.

No easy race gas source. Or e85 :( I can store methanol in my closet.

Aren't there plenty of race shops in your area?
