Off the line? No, you don't have the traction. At the top end? No, you have too much drag.

Between 30 and 70? Easily. My Miata is faster than that, and it's like 800 pounds heavier than your silly 'car'. You'd need to ditch that 2554 and put on the 7163 that the TSE manifold was meant for, though...

I was busy most of the weekend, but managed to get a few hours of work in tonight

I really like something about the noise and the warmth of tigging aluminum. Once the puddle forms and the tone of the A/C changes I just feel in the zone.

Hot side piping in place.

Ebay intercooler location mocked up.

Fills the nose nicely. There's a big slot above the hole that will feed the radiator, but I'm definitely going to need some ducting now.

Air filter is bigger than the turbo! It needs to be moved to somewhere that's not right behind the radiator and in front of the exhaust manifold, but that can wait for now.

Cold side piping in place. I might redo/rework it as I'm not thrilled with the fitment. We'll see.

And everything in place-ish. I need to make and weld on an AIT fitting, weld in the BOV flange, and add a waste gate source to the cold side pipe. Oh and order some t-bolt (or acme?) clamps.

Progress towards boost!

Progress, you haz it

That looks awesome, you do excellent work, sir! I know how it is, once you start making progress its hard to stop.

Now I see what you were saying about the ducting the other night. I think you'll be OK once that is sorted out, just gotta make sure to fill all the gaps. I'm still down for playing with foam and glass if you want to give that a shot.

Did you end up with that huge BOV? Also, I have air filter envy

Hopefully you won't leave that filter right behind the rad like that.
Otherwise great job

Oh yeah, he'll end up moving it. He's not me after all

I bet that thing would fit in the space above the hot side charge pipes in the nose.

For at least the intercooler I think it will be really easy. The foam buck can be left attached to the bumper opening and the ducting can be epoxied directly to the bumper.

Yep the huge VTA turbosmart valve. Feeling a bit of regret that maybe I should have gone for the recirc one. I'm not sure I want it constantly venting if I'm making pressure at/near idle. The good thing is it shares the same mount as the recirc one.

I have a bunch of piping already with the plan to move it, but the filter doesn't really fit anywhere easily. The bumper support structure and intercooler are in the way in the nose. The headlight is in the way in the fender well. I have brackets from cord that move the headlights about 4" forward from where I have them mounted. I'll take a look later and see if those brackets will be enough to get the filter out of the engine bay. Then I'll really need to make some fender liners.

You could always go with a smaller filter. As luck would have it, I have a smaller filter...

You don't need a huge filter for the 2554
I bet even one of those tiny 2.5" cones would work

I also have an extra smaller k&n cone filter if you want it. Been sitting on the shelf in the shop for like a year.

If you grab the part number so I can get the dimensions, that would be awesome.

No rush, plenty of other things to work on first.

Worked a bit on oil and coolant fittings tonight.

Convenient MSM oil drain hole!

Now with a
russell 697070 russell 697070
fitting attached. The flange is just a tiny bit too thick so the nuts aren't fully engaged. I'll pop it off and mill the flange down a mm or so to help. It has an o-ring seal on the pan side, which is nice.

-10 hose to 10an 45* fitting

Another view, it has about a quarter inch clearance with the power steering boot despite what it might look like.

Line mocked up. Turns out I ordered the wrong fitting for the turbo side, so this is the old drain line just lined up with the turbo drain.

View from the top showing how nice the angle is

Also visible (though blurry) is one of my new turbo coolant fittings. M14 x 1.5 to 6an with an aluminum crush washer. The old fittings were 1/4" NPT or some crap, which fit, but not great.

I got some 90* 6an to -6 hose fittings, but with the turbo body slightly rotated (as it's suppose to be per Garrett), the drivers side one hits the shock tower. I feel like a 135* fitting will make the coolant hose interfere with the oil drain line. I might clock the chra to the opposite angle, but then I'd be worried about clearance with the turbine housing flange. /shrug. We'll see.

That drain came out really nice!

As for the clearance on the coolant side, Bat-Inc has banjo to 6AN in both steel and aluminum that should fit the CHRA. Would that help make it a bit lower profile?

Treadstone has some nice coolant to -6 banjos.

I bought a couple for my build (and of course didn't need them). Quality was top notch.
