One more fun story. Morning at the track a guy comes rushing over and goes "Someone said you knew miatas well, ours wont start"

Yank and I went over and started diagnosing. Fuel pump wouldnt prime, we popped in my spare main relay, no luck, still wouldn't prime. We probed the fuel pump relay connector and found that the signal wire from the AFM wasn't ever going high. So we jumpered the fuel pump at the relay connector, and bam started right up. Worked for the rest of the day. Glad I don't have to figure out what the real problem is though.

I later verified that the relay solenoids were working fine. Both under cranking and while in run. Didn't check continuity through the switched circuit though.

I need your help wiring up my ABS stuff. I did indeed flat spot my tires trying to stay ahead of Alex. He said he has video.

Video was posted on cr.net.

Wiring was very simple. Even better because you already have all the correct wires. I bet.

8:40 for flatspotting.

Mine does that sometimes. I think it's the flapper door sticking, since it will start on the second or third try most times, if it doesn't, a firm bop to the AFM and it starts right up.

So engine vacuum keeps the AFM door Open, and turns the fuel pump off when the engine shuts off. Its generally considered unsafe to jumper the fuel pump for track use, in case of an accident. Your fuel pump wouldn't shut off.

It had a full fire system and a big kill switch. I wasn't horribly worried. It was a spec Miata the guy had purchased earlier that week.

Yeah. I still had to prep my car, just wanted to get it running. It worked all day though.

Oh and it turns out dragging a GV lip under your car for a whole lap will destroy it more than I thought. Luckily they have dropped in price a bunch recently. $40 for a new one.

Just want to say I drank beer and half *** pretended to help work on your car... And donated my ignition switch temporarily.

Your flashlight holding was on point.

Did more research and a splitter will probably unbalance the car. Probably going to build an undertray out of birch, maybe have it be a small splitter too.

Cut off a chunk of that old lip and mail it to me if you can, I'll try my hand at making some ducts.

Picked up my fancy @AbeFM VVT cam wheel. Won't be used for a while, but will go in when one of the VVT motors goes in.

Will be paired with a SPM damper at some point.

What is this? More adjustability?

I know I know. Didn't feel like getting butt raped today, so wasn't going to bring that up.

Its from the NB Cam Sensor heat soak thread. It's a wheel that can be used with the EVO8 cam sensor which seems to be more heat resistant.
