This compressor surge is pissing me off. On the highway, if I floor it in 5th gear, the turbo will surge like mad and I have to let off. Any ideas on how to get this **** to stop? I lol'd at some of the supposed remedies that I have read about online. One of which was a group of dudes swearing that a Tornado fuel saver cured their surging issues.

I can get my turbo to surge too if I try. Actually at various RPM and boost levels it will sometimes boost oscillate or make wierd chuffing noises out of the intake. Just power through it- I don't see why it would blow stuff up.
I disagree. I think you need a bigger turbo. That would be much better.

What rpm does it surge in?
My 30r is perfectly fine in 5th from 3k.
Never heard even a hint of surge.
I just don't understand whats so hard about not flooring it at low *** rpm in 5th, but then I don't understand the reason behind "all of it" that you and fleaflyper seem to be so obsessed with.

No joke, my engine might be shot. As i was driving home, i noticed a horrid rattling under the hood. At first i thought it might be the turbo. Nope, thats fine. Then i hoped something came loose and started rattling really bad. Nope. Now im just hoping is the water pump bearing thats shot. Idle is perfect, vacuum is perfect and it drives awesome. Ill find out saturday when i have time to look into it more. Ones thing is for damn sure though, if this engine is toast, this car is getting parted out and thats the end of it. Ill start over with another NA.

your choices on what not to spend money on just blow me away. you have got to be the cheapest son of a #### on this site. replacing the water pump is standard fare on any engine build. you my friend, and your cheap *** penny pinching ways, are your own worst enemy. But I will give you this, just like fae, you are entertaining.
