I've got a stupid question, pretty sure I know the answer, I'd just like to verify for piece of mind since I've heard of people screwing it up. I've got a supermiata crank pulley, there are 2 timing notches on it, pretty sure it's the same on a stock pulley but I can't remember for sure.
When you set megasquirt to 10 degrees to set base timing with a timing light, where should the notches line up? A, B, C?
The car is still running good, I put about 60 miles on it today. Going to change the oil and put some more easy miles on it tomorrow.

Alright I just read through this whole thing. Congrats on getting it running and running well. Bigger congrats on your tenacity. I would have given up a long time ago.
Now hurry up and get the easy miles over with and take it to the next "real" autox at Buckingham, not that practice crap with the wagon wheel abortion. I wanna see this thing in person. If you promise to make it, I will promise to make it, as my sorry *** hasn't been to an autox in like six months. Which is really sad considering its the reason why I have a Miata.

Haha, I like the loop. I took my RSX out last month, which reminded me how much I hate FWD. I'm sure I'll be back out there soon, but I usually just go on practice days though. I'll let you know if I'm going to make it on a Sunday.
I was changing the ground on my wideband yesterday since it's been inconsistent in megatune. I got carried away with it and started cleaning up some other wiring (getting rid of airbag, egr, o2 sensor wiring) and apparently screwed something up because it was running really rough afterwards. I got frustrated with it and pulled the dash to go through everything, so it's probably going to be down a little longer until I get that all figured out. What's that they say about "well enough alone"?

After removing the dash and depinning/removing a bunch of wiring, putting it all back together and it still running like crap, I realized one of my injector clips came unplugged, lol. I fixed the timing (thanks guys, prop'd) and drove it around to get it warm tonight so I could change the oil.

I drove the car to work and back today, just putting some miles on it. I've got 200 miles on the motor so far, part throttle is tuned pretty well, I haven't really gotten into boost much to tune it.
A couple friends went out to the local 1/8th mile track tonight and I went just to watch. One friends car broke on his first pass and he offered to give me his bracelet and number since he was done for the night. It was too much to resist, so I caved and made one pass.
I'm on a 12psi wastegate spring, running real rich in boost and a few degrees of timing pulled out of it. It still ran 8.5 @ 86. I was really happy with the time, I figure that's probably enough to get me in the high 12's through the 1/4 and I expect there's another +100hp on the table once it's all said and done.

I weighed the car this morning. It was 2400 with me in it and 3/4 of a tank of fuel. I'm about 170lbs and figure I could lose another ~40lb in fuel, the car should be right around 2200lbs at race weight.
Oh man, you have no idea. Thanks.
Yeah, I don't doubt there were a few tenths worth. I didn't want to beat on it too much so I knew I was only making one pass. All my shifts were slow and deliberate just to make sure I didn't blow the pass. I really just wanted to get a ballpark idea of where the car stood.
