Just go back to the part where I dropped the bolt down the cylinder and had to pull off the head. It'll make you feel better

I had a lot of aids and fails with this car.

Seriously this thread just makes me sad I already bought a walboro 255. There's not a lot of E85 near me but it is making me think I should get a bigger pump just in case.

How hard can you ball?

Dual Bosch 044 Horizontal FST

And there's enough E85 around us. Enough that i'm looking seriously at something retarded like that for my 93.

This is my new pump:
Racetronix - F90000267 - Fuel Pump - 430L/Hr, E85 Turbine HP
Its only $140 and is a monster. You need to get a sock for it, but it installs fairly easy.

And you said the stock sock fits on it? Did you use that connector or directly splice?

Its still a walbro pump so all walbro socks fit. I used 94-05 miata mounting kit. It costs a whooping $3.30 -> Racetronix - Fuel Pump Installation Kit

Its like $20 everywhere else, lol

Good point, smaller window of copportunity.

BTW I like how you make a few adjustments and pick up ~100hp.

There has to be a gay joke in there somewhere....

That IS a lot of timing, how much was it up top? Looks close to 30*? I like watching the IC heat soak, gives you a good idea of how much margin there was.
The whole displayed log was only 12 seconds - ~9 of it in boost.
I'm assuming the displayed fuel pressure was differential and not absolute?

What pump were you running? It sure looks like it did fine. I guess 1300's might be in your future. Any idea what power you'd make on pump gas?

I so want those coils to suck and the Toyos to win... so much easier. I've gone from 2 sets of plug wires a year (and stop-and-check-connections 5 or 6 times for each of those) to.... Well, I put them on years ago and that's it. I just drive.

No biggie but annoying (and mind blowing, tbh. We're talking about 5th gear here...)
Heh. 400 hp to spin 25 lbs in wheel? I could see how that could happen fairly quickly. :-) With the car geared that way, what speeds were you hitting? Why did you stop at 7200? Looked like rev limiter, but the log says you hit 8k at some point...

P.S. Implied: Torque seemed to fall off for a bit after the peak, but then.... stayed flat to redline. So it looks like there's more to go.

I setup my megalogviewer to specify min/max for a lot of fields - so even though RPM scale shows 0-8000 I never hit it, its just the min/max for that field.

I hit exactly 120mph in 5th. It *should* be 126 but thanks to things like tire deformation, its not. Its 120.

At 26 psi, timing goes from 12* @ 3500 to 25* @ 7200.

I'm running the E85 walbro, and its great. Yes displayed fuel pressure is the differential - fuel pressure minus boost pressure.

Tire deformation? I've heard this before. It has to be slippage, or something. Because most things get bigger when you spin them. Like earth. :-)

So it would make you go faster if that were the only effect. At least, that's how I see it.

Turn Zero Technical Resources :: Gear Calculator
This calculator has an option for tire deformation - for my case it reduces top speed in 5th @ 7200 from 126 to 122. The 120mph number I get, btw, is from GPS.

I'm assuming this just means that the tire gets flattened at the point where it contacts the road so the effective radius is a little bit smaller.

I hope your tires are up to snuff doing those pulls.

We had a blowout at 140+ and it was not very fun.

I don't believe tires can deform while on a vehicle.

I guess I always thought the centrifugal forces would overcome anything else, but the ground is giving you a standing wave, and of course it makes sense you'd have a node there at the ground, so it would get lower.

Still weird though.
