Default Building a Miata out of literal garbage

Ive been around here for a while checking in but finally decided to compile a build thread due to my car finally running again. Ive had a Miata in the family for almost a decade now and mine just shy of that so its been through some ****.

Coles notes:

Went to a track day, got a miata, spent a few years building it, collected a **** ton of parts, tracked it for a year or 2 then ripped it apart for a swap, ran into issues and finally got the p.o.s back running.

Now for the long version (slighly copied and pasted):

Im new and ive been lurking for a while but here is my first miata. I reciently picked up a free 1993 white Mazda Miata for a summer track/lapping budget build. Here is the background to the car…

My daily driver at the time:

2001 Lazer Blue Mazda Protégé MP3

317342_10150371903071335_622041334_10275760_118815 1273_n1 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr
Daily driver and only car until I picked up the miata. Had some things done to it. Header, full exhaust, rebuilt motor with cams, pulleys and adjustable gears, struts/springs/swaybars and adjustable pillowball rear suspension, 17x8 STI BBS' etc. Was about to install a modified Mazdaspeed turbo kit at the time

Earlier this summer my dad was looking for a convertible rwd car as a cruiser and fun toy. Ideas were a e36 318 vert or a z3 or something alike. My friend has a miata at the time and that’s how that became an option and how he ended up with this a month or 2 later…

1990 Mariner Blue Mazda Miata

DSC01240 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

1 owner, 163k, manual, hardtop and we got it for damn good deal

so far: black 15x7+25 Team Dynamics Pro 1.2 w/ 205/50Yokohama Advan AD08, ACT HD stage 1 clutch, Jackson Racing header, Magnaflow Cat, Tokico Blues/Tokico springs, Energy Suspension Poly bushing kit, K&N drop in filter, 1.8 injectors, 949 racing extended braided clutch line, 5x racing metal shifter bushing, Hawk HPS pads, Nardi Classic 350mm etc

That’s when I decided I needed to find a cheep rwd car to screw around in, and build to head out on the track as well as drive it there and home.

lurked kijiji a bunch and few weeks later I found this…

1993 white miata

I cant find pictures of when i first got it but here it is after I brought it home and 10 washes later.

DSC01214 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

265k, rocker rot on 1 side, 5 spd, wet leaves piled everywhere in the car and the bay, destroyed interior and missing things everywhere. but the rest of the car was pretty solid. front end has fresh paint as well.

The owner had a few performance parts on the car and sold those off( JR M45 SC, JR header, Supra 305cc, Greddy emanage Blue, Rota wheels, Koni/FM suspension, Sparco seats, HD Deuce roll bar and a bunch of other parts.) assuming he got all the money from those parts he wanted the shell and the rest of the parts (including a full running motor, tranny and few misc. parts) he decided to put it up for FREE!

A week later with a friends truck and rented dolly I towed the car home.

Car also came with a few upgraded parts left for me to start my build with(the good) :

Eurodrive Kevlar clutch
Shaved/Lightened 1.6 flywheel
Walbro 255lph HP fuel pump
Greddy SP 2.25" axleback exhaust w/ test pipe

Power wise the goal is 250 at the wheels but I am more concerned with spool and reliability. Since I love my suspension stuff im going to be starting out with changing everything there as well with bracing up the chassis everywhere. Less weight and clean/neater parts will be the aim for to make more space and easier to work/spot problems. Car really needs a good cleaning and TLC and to be put back together.

Plans/future parts:

Replace the leaking gas tank, get the rust patched, cert/e-test and finally drive the car!

well i have been driving my dads miata all summer. honistly it feels pretty familiar driving it. but that is at 90whp.

also the rust really isnt as bad as it looks. because sitting outside and wet leaves the rocker is rusted through and the floor has a small soft patch because of a wet carpet. most of it is just surface and scrapes off with my fingernail to bare metal

other than that its a few surface bubbles. the car has been oiled so the rest is pretty damn clean. i have a guy that can reweld it. He did 2 small spots on my dads rockers as well.

DSC01243 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

DSC01244 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

polished and waxed the car. suprizingly the painted turned out pretty decient.

DSC01788 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

engine that works. still a dirty engine bay but alot cleaner than what is was.

DSC01787 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

stripped interior. needs a bit of working on.

cars in the garage for the winter collecting dust. collecting money and parts to install in the next few months.

so 10 months after having the car finally an update. ive been focusing on 1 car at the time. so just about to turbo my Protege then i should be mostly done with the car and can start with the miata. here is some pics from yesterday from a fathers day track day where me adn my dad took the Protege and his Miata(recient additions are Team dynamics pro race 1.2 15x7 +25 with Advan AD06 205/50's and a R front lip)

IMG-20110619-00023 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr
i also found some great deals and picked up a few parts for my Miata.

smoked crystal indicators, cleaned the whole interior, rewelded the muffer and rolled the rear fenders.
no pics unfortunately

Nardi Classic 350mm steering wheel

AEM 3.5 bar MAP sensor, AEM UGEO wideband sensor w/gauge and ddm works 3 gauge din slot

DSC01429 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

car needs the gas tank replaced so while im doing that the rear subframe is going to be braced and welded(any ideas), stripped and repainted with all the control arms, Prothane Poly bushings for all the control arms and the interior of the car is going to get all stitch and seam welded before it gets a repaint inside.

a lot of work cut out for me later on

Its been a while since ive updated this but ive still been on the forums. The car has has a bunch of work done even with busy school, work and work on the protégé as well.

DSC01633 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

The car was stripped down to the shell underneath(minus pulling motor/tranny and front subframe)
The whole underneath from the tranny tunnel black was wirebrushed bare, primed, painted black and undercoated.

[FONT=Times New Roman]
DSC01607 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Got an NB rear subframe and with my control arms, they were wirebrushed bare, painted with rust converting primer, painted roll bar black and a sparkle clear coat. They look amazing. I also have Red Prothane polyurethane bushing kit to install with an oem Mazda upper ball joint boots and red molybdenum synthetic grease.

DSC01637 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

The rear 1.6 diff, PPF and Driveshaft were all cleaned up and wirebrushed.
DSC01635 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Every single Nut and bolt has beeen wirebrushed bare or has been replaced, anti-seise on the threads and torqued per spec.

Also the whole point of this was to change the leaky gas tank. I swapped in a 1.8 tank from a 97 and put in a normal 1.8 fuel pump to replace the Walbro 255hp and adj. fuel pressure regulator to run and idle better for pre-boost

Replaced the steering wheel with a non-airbag 90 Miata 3 spoke and did a full air-bag delete through the car.

Suspension will be some BARELY used BC coilovers with the 10/8 spring package(looking into 10/7 or 10/6 after I get experience on them) will anti-seize the threads and throw them on. Probably looking at a 11.5/11.75 ride height.

IMG-20120111-00101 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

What just arrived in packages for me are some 949 racing brake lines, 949 racing Extended race clutch line, Illest and Mazdaspeed T-shirts and some 5xRacing Metal shifter bushings.(no pic yet)

New rear bumper support and mounts/bolts as I got tired of all the rusty stuff and mangled the stock one getting it off.

Picked up decient condition Mitsubishi 14b turbo. With a decient turbo build on 14-16 psi hopefully I will be able to make my goal of 250whp and decient spool up

paint is vht roll bar gloss black and the clear coat is duplicolour glitter effects

pressed the bushings the control arms (more of a slight push actually). minus the half of 1 of the right rear upper. they sent me the wrong one so im waiting on that to install the upper.

DSC01641 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

also tried putting the rear sway bar one but aparently somewhere along the line a 1.8(11mm) rsb was swapped in so im waiting on some 7/16" red prothane bushings to install.

my coilovers only came with the larger spanner wrench so i ordered a new set from BC and when that comes in, ill pull the coilovers apart, clean and antiseise the threads and install with new bolts and nuts.

Also noticed 1 of my rear uprights is bent due to pushing out the driveshaft with a 20 ton press. So i ordered another 90 rear hub. going to install new bearings in the rear and cut all sheilds for a future planned sport brakes

went to go put the wiring harness on all the connections on the transmission and they all were so corroded and pulled off while a wire snapped on the reverse sensor. so new bullet connectors installed for the harness and need to get the reverse sensor so i can put in my Ford motorcraft 75w-90 transmission fluid.

I didnt like how the front of the car was still dirty and nasty compared to the nicely painted and undercoated rear. so i kinda started on it

DSC01726 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Also thinking of a minor wire tuck or well delete. i hate the black looms so ill hide them as much as i can and delete as much of the stuff as i can before the safety. and then get rid of everything i absolutely dont need after. less **** to worry about/go wrong on the track and more room in the bay

School has taken up a lot of time so the car is still being worked on but here is whats happened lately

In the mean time i have sold the protégé MP3 and picked up a new daily driver. A 2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen coupe in silver. A few mods so far: new Sachs Viggen clutch/PP, GS braided clutch line, Koni Sport springs, GS shorty antenna, BBS RK1 17x8 +35 on 225/45/17 Continential tires, BBS 10.9 lug bolts, Hawk HPS brake pads/drilled slotted rotors and regular refreshing so far

DSC01674 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

My dads Miata is in for some fresh Mariner blue paint and has had some mods lately as well: Flyin Miata silicone 1-piece lower rad hose, Mazda Competition motor mounts, Hawk HPS brake pads

On mine I have removed the front subframe and steering rack. Wirebrushed and undercoated/black paint under the fenders and bottom of the frame rails as well as white paint on the door jams on the drivers side. Still have to get to the front and passenger side.

Brake callipers have been painted black instead of rust coloured until I can get sport brakes. The drive shafts have also just been painted black. Spare hub arrived. just needs new bearings/cutting/paint then i can finish the rear of the car.. I also sold the turbo manifold/downpipe for the car for extra cash on the daily driver. I still do have the 14b and the standalone for the turbo stuff.

DSC01674 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Parts for my Miata include: Flyin Miata 1-piece silicone lower rad hose, AWR 70Duro Polyurethane motor mounts for 1.6, Superpro Power Poly steering rack bushings, Magnaflow 1.8 Hi-flow cat.

DSC01652 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

DSC01673 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

DSC01671 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

I also picked this up for free from a local Miata tuner…2001 BP short block. Cracked piston from det. and the rest are pitted. But its 500km from the last rebuild with ARP head studs and apparently forged pistons and rods. Maybe I will be going 1.8 after all…

soo the MAF on my Saab went bad and under full boost i lost cylinder #4. 35psi compression so likely cracked a piston. so thats taking a side and the push to get the miata done has started(it will take less time and $$ to finish).

the whole underneith of the bay was painted black as well as the tunnel was fully undercoated, wheelwells totally undercoated and the bottom half of the rad support.

subframe was complretely cleaned up stripped and then painted the same rollbar black/sparkle clear as the rest of the suspension components. cleaned up the dirty as motor a little bit then installed on AWR 70 duro poly mounts.

DSC01731 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

DSC01694 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

cleaned up the steering rack and painted part of it (same black/sparkle) and installed on the rack with the super pro poly rack bushings

DSC01694 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

949 extended clutch line was also installed and clutch slave was cleaned and painted (no pic)

anddddd more parts to get the car done. a pair or Bride Vios 3 seats with side mounts and a slider for the passenger.

DSC01730 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

R-package tie rod ends, ball joints and nuts, bolts and washers to finish up the suspension

DSC01733 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

as well as smoked indicators and bumper lights plus H4 conversion headlights

DSC01732 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

and right now im cleaning up the bay. going to do a half tuck with the wires. have them on the outside under the fenders and around the headlights. looks cleaner but still access to the wires if i need to. a little dremeling and some paint and that will be done.

the car finally drives. everything is back together, torqued and set. finally got the car on the ground, out of the garage and driven in over a year! started right up the second time after i realized that there was no gas in the lines and i added a bit of throttle.

all new fluids in absolutely everything. a cheep oil to clean out the engine, mobil 1 synthetic 75w90 in the diff and Ford Motorcraft MTF 75w90 in the tranny plus everything else flushed and fresh.

set the ride height to 11.25 Front/ 11.5 rear H-F. Thats the lowest i could go without losing shock travel and thats low enough for me... for now. the camber in the rear i took out as much as i could and the front i left it in the middle. im aiming for 2.8*F and 2.5* rear with 0 toe as per 949s recomendations. just a temp job with a string by my to get by. boy new oem nuts and bolts everywhere look so pretty and wont ever have a problem with them snapping or seising.

the clutch was a pain to bleed with air in the line. took a compressor and the hole in the top of the master cap to get that done for me. the exhaust doesnt fit that well but its on. the 1.8 cat doesnt fit exact so i have the test-pipe on and i need a stock 1.8 exhaust manifold so i can use the bottom piece with the magnaflow 1.8 cat.

tried timing the car but i cant get the idle low enough to set the timing well enough. Even with the idle adjust screw on the throttle body screwed all the way in and in base timing mode it still will barely go under 1000. As well as i swapped the walbro 255HP for a stock 1.8 pump so im stumped on that it didnt change. The car is also overheating a little because the rad fan wont come on and its hooked up. plus the diff axle on 1 side will not go fully into the hub. Its close but just not there yet...

so for the first time in 13 months. she is done and i got to drive her around the block.

the front end is on temporarily until i get back from the body shop.

im sure my fan overheating issue is caused by my rusty thermostat and sensor. so that was cleaned up and i will be replacing the sensor.

just have to rebleed brakes, deal with the idle issue and get that axle fully in the hub and put the nut on so it can head over to the body shop.

DSC01764 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

DSC01763 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

The body work has been done on the car. Painting will be completed today.

The floors are getting stitch welded then rockerguarded/bedlinered and painted for noise/heat. pictures will be up when completed.

I started tearing down that 1.8 BP bare short block i for free. I got another hell of a deal. came out of local miata shop owners car when he wanted to go LS2. Was sold to a car going into the Targa Newfoundland but it detonated with a FM2 kit and was going to be thrown out:

01 1.9l Block (1862cc) (150km ish? with 10k on recient rebuild)
01 Oil Pan w/MBSP and tapped for oil return
barely used Oil pump/waterpump
-Melted- JE 83.5 9:1 Forged Pistons
M-tuned/ETD CRS 5230 H-beam Forged Rods
ARP2000 rod studs
ARP Head studs(minus the 12point nuts)

Not too bad for free...

So I have been driving the car around for the last month or so. Car was certified and e-tested with nothing and will be heading to the track finally tonight after an almost 3 year build.

Added some new parts:
Garage Star Type 1 plate bracket,
Garage Star Hardtop Brackets,
ebay leather shift/ebrake boots with blue stitching,
bedlinered the whole interior and repainted fresh with oem mazda white,
ebay r-package front lip,
Oem NB floormats
CSA Meristar 15x7 +24 wheels on Falken Azenis RT-615K 205/50/15s

and waiting to be installed: I just Harddog M1 Hardtop Hardcore roll bag,
I just grabbed a complete type 2 4.3 Torsen diff with a broken cover for $250. planning to throw some 4.1 gears in that when i put the new cover on.

Also have plugged in the AEM EMS and mated it to the AEM UGEO so i can figure out the standalone before i go turbo. Put the automatic throttlebody and went variable TPS too.

Ill get some pics of everything after shes been cleaned up for the track

Getting more track experience and more used to the car. Just tweaking the car a bit and playing with the alignment and tuning.

Just installed this for the next track day. NB type 2 Torsen lsd with a repainted black sparkle case, new cover with Prothane poly diff bushings and oem side seals and repainted black sparkle/green sparkle axles and driveshaft. need all that extra grip with <100hp...

The car as been is storage for the last 6 months over the winter and it comes out next weekend so I just thought id share a few parts and stuff i've picked up for the new season.

currently I am doing a co-op at a powdercoating manufacturer so I might have powerdercoated all of the brackets, accessories and hoseclamps for that Mazdaspeed motor...

DSCN0076_zps66d9bf4a by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

(Garage star Hardtop plates and grey 356 pole position)

And I also decided to disassemble the perfectly good MSM motor and build it with some of these parts for piece of mind.

DSCN0061_zpse1b3f278 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr
(used M-tuned rods w/new ARP bolts, ARP headstuds w/new ARP nuts, ACL race rod, main and thrust bearings and Supermiata valve seals)

(AWR 70a 01-05 engine mounts and Hondata IM spacer)

And some other stuff

Ebay Mazdaspeed Miata Turbo elbow, 2.5" downpipe, compressor outlet and Hyperco 350lb 6" springs)

DSCN0085_zps57b8db0d by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr
(Scroth Rallye 4point Dot approved wrap around harnesses and black pads)

and still a maybe a full 10ae Blue carpet set for the interior

DSCN0085_zps57b8db0d by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

So I didn't get to use the car or get as much done to it as Id like. I didn't go to as many track days as I would have liked to either. I did get to manage to powdercoat a lot of parts on it as well as my dads. I got my daily(Viggen) up to where I would like it to be and tuned as well (295hp/330tq) and spent rest of the time working. Although I used the Miata what it was meant for a little bit

IMG-20130825-00321_zpsef4c6a9c by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

I have finished tearing down the MSM engine. Just getting the block checked to make sure and finish ordering the rest of the engine parts now.

Plus I found a few pictures of when I first saw the car and one of when I had it home and washed

04 MSM Engine
Weisco 8.8:1 83.5 Forged Pistons
Weisco XX Piston Rings
Mtuned Forged Rods
Boundary street billet oil pump
Arp Main studs
Arp Head Studs
Arp2000 rod bolts
ACL Race rod bearings
ACL Race main bearings
Supermiata Valve seals
Powdercoated Begi coolant reroute
Powdercoated EVERYTHING
All new OEM Mazda gaskets

This build really isn't "budget " anymore is it

So the engine swap has been put off a little longer... again...but atleast this reason is Miata related.

I work at a Miata specific shop and this car came in for repairs. Owner bought it new and had it as a mostly summer car while being garage kept. A few years ago he became sick and the car sat. So he brought it in to be fixed up. The cost of parts and labour was more than the value of the car so he decided to scrap it. BUT instead of that I grabbed it and decided to save another Miata

another FREE Miata.

1990 (89 build date) White Miata, 5spd with 266km. Dirty as hell, vines growing everywhere through the chassis, some rocker rust, missing mirror, peeling 90 paint soft top with gaping holes and an interior that I had to wear a hazmat suit to remove it from the car. Some Animals invited dirty mike and the boys to make a mess all over it. But somehow after sitting for a number of years it started up and drove home with just a jump to the battery.

Here it is. Building it for my brother to have but if not it might be up for sale. I have lots of spare parts to throw on the car to start

DSC_0142b_zpskjztmkdl by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

IMG_20150811_223150b_zpsxohk0pgp by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Here is the plan for that car and because these are my spare parts:

fix rust/paint
bedliner interior+repaint white
wash everything
replace full carpet set
synthetic everything oils all of it
NB 22mm front swap bar
MSM Sport full brake swap w/ braided lines
Hawk HPS pads, Coated blank rotors
K/N filter
new clutch slave+ braided clutch line
Fuel filter
FM pedal set
Full NB eccentric bolts
Momo steering wheel hub
Shaved 1.6 flywheel/ Kevlar stage 2 clutch
Black Robbins top/pvc rain rail/91+ side clips
FM silicone lower rad hose
and that's it so far. likely my old CSA 15x7s too

I bought some 15x9 TR C3M's on 225 Hoosier R6's. Later swapped to 225 RS3 V2's( still have the hoosers and I still haven't used any of them.

DSC_0125_zps2ymwp1ft by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Finally got time to pull the motor and rip apart the bay. Stripped it all and repainted it Factory white + Clear.

DSC_0393_zpssfynmsfl by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

I also cleaned up the inside and removed the harness for a custom one. Ended up changing to a 1990 Non-airbag/straight stalk harness, Deleted A/C wiring and anything else I wasn't using, Added back in the Defrost function because Canada and cleaned up the routing in the bay.(after this pic was taken)

DSC_0395_zpsjc7vgklh by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

I then figured out what I was doing for a clutch. Shaved 1.8 flywheel (15.4lbs) and a custom upgraded Kevlar clutch from a the used Mazdaspeed one.

DSC_0398_zpsdnihprdv by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Then I bought more parts

DSC_0407_zpsijroczcx by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

(Beatrush PPF diff brace, Goodwin PPF power brace, Forge BOV, OEM Leather ebrake handle, Beatrush hardtop latches, Nielex knuckle braces and some IL hood struts)

and more

DSC_0408_zpsyodbq5ve by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

(Ebay bigish intercooler, new seat brackets because 6'3 and Wilwood 1" master kit)

About this time I started to but back together the powdercoated IHI turbo

But I came across a great deal on a MSM full turbo set up dirt cheap with a bad turbo. So I figured Id build that with the stock one and stick it on the other white Miata.

And I decided to shove one of these into my MSM kit. EVO1 16g. with the Weisco 8.8 83.5 piston in the same pic.

DSC_0409_zpstgbswgve by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

So I stopped spending money and got off my *** and started doing work. I finally put the ported and powdercoated dual runner NB1 manifold on the engine and stuck the engine with the new clutch and new low mileage NB 5spd trans (which is soon to blow up so you will see a 6spd swap sometime this year).

DSC_0400_zpsqjy9tyqu by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

And stuck the damn thing back in the car finally

DSC_0404_zpsac5vv3jp by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

And that is how she sits now. Except turned around in the winter so I can work on it because cold and snow is nasty

So back again. Car in finally on the road again after 3 years of working on it. Finished school/looking for a career job and tune issues just delayed it a bunch. Oh well here it is:

Over the few years i've we've also done a few things to the other cars too:

20170702_140920 by Neil Vanderlaan, on Flickr

Blue one:
02 VVT engine swap w/ Vics
Aem Ems
4.1 Torsen
NB 5spd
HSD monopro coils
Wilwood fronts w/ mini rotors
NB Sport master/booster
NB2 seats
MSM front sway
Cusco front strut bar
MSM pedal set

White one:

Full poly suspension bushings

And that brings us to where I am now minus my Daily driver being smushed which put my winter plans behind schedule.

Went from an 02 Volvo C70 T5M to an 09 E90 335 6spd M-sport car with some Dinan fun bits

Currently in the works for the car will be a BNR 18G turbo, ARtech 3" downpipe/elbow and some ID1000 injectors. Should get me easily to 330-350whp area. Ill run a low boost setting on the track so I dont kill the 6spd so quickly. the 2.5" ebay stuff and 660cc injectors will be saved to go with the spare MSM turbo Ive got.

ANDD before anyone gives me crap about the MSM stuff. I picked up the MSM motor and turbo set up for about $300ish (thats with CAD to USD conversion at that time) and a MSM turbo kit with bad turbo (around $100)ish. Plus I'm picking up another MSM turbo set up with bad turbo tonight (no lines for around $30 (todays conversion). I mean its not that bad right?

So finally getting back on to the car. The engine went in the car, broke in the motor and took it to a local tuner(idiots) to get a reasonable base tune n/a. They of course messed that up and I had to go thru the tune myself to get it going. Over time I did but was getting spark cut around 5K rpm. FINALLY with some help of some others tracked it down to spark dwell(no idea why the tuner screwed with this). With the car running I finally have motivation to move this project forward.

At the end of last year(with the spark cut) I managed to get some 245 RS4s put on the 15x9s and headed to a meet

I also picked up a winter beater because I threw a bunch of typical N54 parts at the bmw and decided wagons are cool + a 550+hp rwd BMW isn't an ideal winter car

I also sold the 3.63 gears I bought and grabbed a 3.6 torsen complete instead. Another 6spd came my way, so that combo will be going in the mariner blue one andddd I bought some 3.3 gears for myself.

After all that, I ported the lip on the MSM manifold, bolted on the BNR turbo and put it on the car for the first time. Now to figure out the IC piping; Trying to route it down instead of up and over. Will need to design a new wastegate bracket, Swap to the longer NB PS line to route around the compressor and then deal with the lower rad hose
