DIY Ceramic Coating (how-to)

wow, this is a cool thread ... never really thought about diy ceramic coat. I'm collecting parts for a diy '97 turbo setup and i just may have to do this with the manifold and turbine housing. Only problem is that ive got a gas stove, so i guess i could take it to a shop for the final bake.

you can let it air dry and then idle it for an hour before drying to cure it... but if you do that you have to be very careful to
1) not get ANY chemicals (including oil from your hands) on it
2) not chip it (very soft before curing)
3) not let it get too hot before curing (aka it HAS to idle for an hour before you can drive it)
Here are the final pics. You'll also notice that I powder coated most of the engine and IC pipes last month Keep in mind that all of this coating was done with locally available equipment and a standard electric house hold oven.
