Default GT28R vs. T3 s60

Hey gang, I've been thinking of getting a new turbo and I was just wondering what the spool/lag difference between these two turbos is, right now I have the GT28, if I get a T3 will I notice slower spool? How about power, should pull better on higher rpms right? If I do get t3 it'll be the s60 with .60/.48 a/r, and external wastegate.

One more question, can I buy a new compressor wheel for my Garrett GT28r turbo, one of my blades is chipped a bit.

Yep you can buy a new compressor wheel, Bought mine on ebay. (brizilian guy).
But youll need to reballance the chra...And, at least on mine the wheel didn.t come off.. (ps don't remove the wheel, youll brake the bb section..) It really is professional work..

I don't have any personal experience with the gt28r but everything I've ever heard/read has said it will spool faster than a t3s60.

theres no way it would be worth the trouble to swap your mani/dp out for a switch like that. from what i've heard, the t3 s60 sounds like a gt28r, with a little more lag. if you want more power, get a 2871 or 3071

Yes, if I get the right offer I'll sell it if not it's still my car and I enjoy modifying and driving it, even if I'll lose money it's fun and I learn something new everytime. Plus my wheel is chipped on the turbo so I have to buy a new one or I was just thinking if I should get a new turbo.

markp s ebay turbo setup.
I think that's a real misconception.

93 octane
1.8 motor with stock head and intake
9:1 compression
$200 cheap chinese turbo
Stock transmission (yes, my '99 came with a 6 speed because my car was painted blue at the factory.)
Stock Torsen

296 RWHP @ 17 PSI

The T3 wont really get you much more power, and it also wont really lag any more either. Like others said moving from a GT2560R ( thats what you have ) to a T3 S60 isnt worth it. If I was you I would move into a GT28RS ( The potato ) because it uses the same downpipe flange and still uses the same T2 hotside flange too. It is capable of 350whp with about 500rpm of extra lag, but its the best turbo for up to 350whp in my mind.
