Turns out I don't have a GT3071R but a GT2871R ...
Guys a little help if you would. Some of you may have seen my other thread about my broken GT3071R. I posted up a video of it here:
Well after speaking to some turbo specialists here in the UK I was asked to send in the product number found on the plaque on the center of the turbo.
Now I just googled the number, and it turns out it's a GT2871R and not a GT3071R as I was led to believe when I bought it used a few months ago.
Not all bad I guess - the GT2871R is a great turbo for a Miata right? Only the problem is that my turbo seems to have a different compressor housing than a 'normal' GT2871R. It has 0.5A/R stamped on it, which makes it huge like a GT3071R. The exhaust housing has 0.86 stamped on it.
So it seems I have a GT2871R with 0.5AR compressor and 0.86 exhaust housing.
I'm not a turbo expert so I'm not sure if this will be well suited to my goals. I plan to make around 400-420 flywheel horsepower.
So can someone help me ID this thing and tell me how it should perform? The intake measures 2.75". Here as some pictures of the actual turbo:
The code on the plaque reads:
446179-5032
I'm feeling pretty pissed off right now and it's been too long since I purchased the turbo to get anywhere with the original seller. If someone could tell me what this turbo should perform like that would be perfect.
I've never seen a GT2871R with this size compressor housing so don't know what it means.

Compressor A/R means nothing. It's just the style of compressor, and it doesnt really have any impact on performance.
I made 350whp at 17psi on a 2871R w/ 0.86a/r turbine. 400whp wil be a stretch but I think it's doable with the right supporting mods and a bunch of boost (probably ~24psi). That is a great turbo, and honestly I'd rather have that than the 3071R you thought you had. Shuiend will be along shortly since I'm pretty sure he has a 56-trim 2871R, but that looks like a 56-trim turbo.

There's only like a 15-25hp difference between the two turbos, theoretically.
I wouldn't be upset about it.
Regardless, you're fuxored. Garret CHRA exchange scam will rescue you though.
Or, for the same $600 you could buy a Borg Airwerks that you can rebuild yourself. For like $100. Issue though is you would need a new downpipe cus it's not 5 bolt.

The only choice I have dealing with UK companies is to buy a new CHRA, which is going to cost approx £600 or $947.
The Garrett CHRA exchange program is for USA customers only. You guys get all the luck it seems! Anyway I got in touch with ATP who said an exchange wouldn't be a problem and would cost $547 or £346. I've sent them a reply asking if they'd have any issues sending it to the UK (which I hope they don't!)
Failing that, I'm left with 2 choices:
1) Stumping up nearly $1000 for a new CHRA in the UK
2) Finding someone nice enough to take delivery of my CHRA in the USA and send it to me (that I trust with it & I'd cover shipping charged obviously).
I'll wait on ATP's reply, but if it's a no go, I may be sending out a pleading email to some of the forums trusted vendors.
Just so gutted after building this thing since last November I got 2 days of glorious boost and this happens.

Just got a reply from ATP. The price has dropped to $472 and $69 shipping. So it works out at $541 / £343 shipped to my door vs $880 / £558 ordered from the UK.
God bless America.
