Default 91' w/ JDM BP05 n/a, turbo soon..(crate motor w/ 9500miles)

Hello.

I blew #4 on my small nose original motor about 2 months ago.. so I looked around and found a used jdm crate motor w/ 9500miles, for only $850..

I bought alot of 1.6 to 1.8 conversion parts from flyin miata, along with steering rack bushings, all new tranny seals.. ect... full maintenence..

did myself a custom coolant reroute, and retained the heater core, nice and toasty...

Ive done about 3 oil changes on it so far, to ensure she has a nice clean inside, even though i pulled the oil pan, and cleaned it down with mobile 1 10/30... it still had cross hatching on the cylinder walls.. compression is 185+/- accros the board...

I traded my gsxr 600 for this miata about 9 months ago.. I think I work on it everyday. I love this car.

Im just running it n/a until I save up and buy the exact turbo setup I want...

***Im also looking for some after market 1.8 headers, used or new***

SO.here ya go.

the 1.6 right before I started ripping her apart, i did this all by myself..

THE BP05 1.8

the first picture I have of the car, i had alreay replaced the stock piping and added a b.o.v.

Now I just need to put the timing cover back on and do something about that k&n filter on the valve cover.

It looks a lot better than it did, but it still looks a lot more cluttered than a lot of the others on this forum.

Last year when I was looking for a strange new tick. I'm guessing I have a hydraulic lifter going out.

I had a timing plate bolt ventilate my valve cover. It was my car telling me to run exposed cam gears.

Miata turbo engine bay by Gorillazfan, on Flickr

After washing/waxing the bay. Now I've got my heat shield on and fixed my leaky oil return line so I don't have to clean the bay every couple of days.

Shiny parts encourage the purchasing of more shiny parts.
