Default Voodoo Box broke :(

So I received Voodoo Box from Flyin' Miata yesterday. Installed it. Did a lap around my block. Next thing I hear is hissing sound and rough idle so I immediately think vacuum line disconnected. I look at it and freaking nipple from vacuum/boost sensor is broken!!!!!

Did anyone ever have that problem? Nipple was extremely small and plastic it was made of seems very fragile. I don't think this is suitable for FM to use cheap parts like that. No offense to Flyin' Miata but this BLOWS. $427 down the drain (although I managed to ghetto-rig it a little bit so it works but now cover has to be closed at all times which makes tuning quiet difficult :/

Extremely disappointed with FM so far, it was my first and probably last purchase from them. I will call them later today to see if they can refund me.

That sucks, those vac nipples are tiny on those units. Hope they help you out.

Not sure how this could be related but my engine started ticking at 7psi after I installed Voodoo Box. Didn't do it before :/

My mood is down the drain although I did buy Torsen for $250 yesterday and my new wheels are coming today. And I'm putting suspension and fender flares tomorrow.

I am sure they will be more than happy to send you a replacement, otherwise you can probably JB weld it together or something.

Got an e-mail response from FM. They offered me to send a replacement. FM ROCKS!

This time around make sure to keep the clear tube slack on the nipple. I actually bend it in a large loop and zip tie it to the box. When I want to tune I open the unit up, tape it to the dash so i can see the lights and pots, and tape the vac line to the dash with some slack as well to make sure it isn't pulling on that little map sensor.

Speaking of voodoo boxes, I just got your old one(cjernigan) today from strider and I too was surprised at the little plastic vacuum fitting. It looks pretty flimsy and as others said is not what I'd expect from FM, but thats cool that they are giving soot a replacement. They are usually very quick with anything that they have in stock, just stuff that they are back ordered on takes its sweet time.

And cjernigan, nice fittings on the voodoo box, where can I get more of these? I was going to use deans connectors or bullet connectors(rc guy), but these seem pretty good too.

by the way, connecting wires to ecu was real pain in the butt but thats probably because i was doing it in my parking spot without proper lighting
