My plan - am I about to do something dumb?
I have a GT3071R with the full 60mm 84 trim UHP turbine. I have been searching for housing and manifold options to make this puppy spool (but not choke)
ETD Shorty manifold with external gate with T25 flange which uses the smaller runners (1.25" schedule 40).
paired with...
HKS T25 0.61 A/R turbine housing with conical GT 4-bolt outlet. This housing is native to the HKS GT3037S which uses the same turbine. (same wheel specs as the Garrett GT3076R)
I am thinking the smaller runners, T25 low A/R housing, and external gate will be a good match for the 1.8L and spool this turbo with some hot fast pulses.
Is my logic good here or am I planning a setup that will loose the benefits of a big turbo?

Could you be more specific with your sarcasm? I want the earliest response I can get out of the GT3071R while still being able to carry a nice flat torque curve out to 7.5-8k.
The turbo is good for 400HP+ but all I want out of it is 300RWHP with potential for 350.
The torque seems to drops off at 5.5k on the GT2560R.
