EMB Problem: can read data but not load updated maps
Hi,
I have a friend with a big problem.
He is running a supercharged (he is a misguised soul ) miata with EMB.
After recent upgrades (IC, smaller pulley, etc) he decided to review his map so he tried to connect the EMB to the laptop via USB (BTW, he also tried with serial connection with the same result)
The previous setup was made by Phil (performance5.com, UK very famous Miata tuner (in Europe, of course!)) so he never tried to connect the EMB to his laptop, but according to this we know that this EMB works properly.
BTW, we are Italian, so we prefer to avoid shipping to and back UK!
Now, the problem is:
- He can read data: maps + datalogging (gages and so on)
- He can't write the modified map on the EMB!!! He recieve an "access denied"
I suggested him to check the COM settings... but I don't know if it will work
Anyone found the same issue? Possible solutions?

I tried to check the settings and the password is not enabled.
The problem is another one: I tried to use his laptop remotely, and I discovered that the tool gives an error regarding the unit. It says that the version of his EM is not the correct one for that software.
He told me he bought his EMB more than 1 year ago, from US. He only recieved the EMB + the CD with a (cracked maybe) version of the tool.... this sounds strange to me.
Anyway, I tried to use both the standard EMB software AND the Gold version (found here on MT.net), because as he bought from US I thought that he recieved a modded version instead of the standard blue.
I still recieve the same error.... but the problem remains only in writing... datalogging, importing and so on works perfectly.... WTF!
Thanks again

Gravedigging of my post....
It seems that me and EMBs or EMGs are not on the same wavelength!
Yesterday we finished to build a turbo setup on 1.8L NB and we started playing with our EMs:
1. We have one EMB and one EMG (unfortunately we didn't marked which one is the G which the B). Connecting, datalogging is ok but software states "this version of EM is not supported". I tried with the Blue software only for the moment, and it's strange no unit is recognized as "correct"
2. we connected MAP sensor (GM 3 bar) to the wiring marked as MAP input, Support Tool continues showing AFM :( We will re-check pin-out of MAP acc to a thread we found here. On EMB wiring I think we are ok (it has been done by a friend of mine working for Magneti Marelli on EMU boards!), but I will ask him a schematics in order to doublecheck. What can be the problem?
3. One of the two EM is giving a constant full throttle TPS signal (but I've read a thread this morning with the solution for correlating the datas), so this topic seems to be solved....
