Default 12V power supply

Where do you guys grab the 12V power for the pump in the engine bay?

I might try to install my devils own stage 1 before my dyno day on saturday.

Also what 12v ign source do you use?

I ran one with relay from the cabin. which source depends on when you want it powered.

Definitly use a relay to draw power from...most key'd 12v sources are small ga wires which you can only draw so much current through...this is what I did when I was installing my wb and ebc....I just picked up a water/shock proof solid state relay which I wired to a distribution block...since this block had two strips, one side I used as my common ground and the other I used obviously for my fused 12v keyed sources...this isnt the easiest way to do it, but probably the right way

haha i have the 30 amp relay... im wondering where to get the actual 12 volt source in the engine bay...without going allthe way back to the battery.

The ign is just a signal to the relay.

Quote:
Electrical connection to Relay
*Refer to pin number not color
• Pin 85 connects to the top pin O on the pressure switch.
• Pin 86 connects to the ignition 12v source in your vehicle
• Pin 87 connects to the Pumps Red wire.
• Pin 30 connects to the fuse and then to the other end of the fuse to the
+12v source of the battery.
• Pin 87a connects to nothing.

Running a wire from the batt is probably the safest bet...if you think about it, most of the wiring in the cabin or engine bay is already supplying power to something. If you just tap power off something, your likely to keep popping fuses or worse yet burn your car to the ground.

get any car audio multi-fused distribution block.
Parts Express: Featured Categories

and do it properly. you'll then have a large gauge power wire there for future use. And more in the trunk if you need them. the key is the fuse close to the battery. unless you want a 4 GA power wire burning your car in half.
