Default 3" turbo back

well, if your miata is turbo, and doesn't have a 3" line... go get one...
its a totally different car,
boost comes on stronger, spools sooner
sounds amazing (kinda loud right now though, need muffler)
its nuts,
i will post vids tomorrow

setup is as follows

intercooled greddy, about 2 inch's of the greddy downpipe remain, right where the bend happens, then its 3 inch all the way to the bumper
i have no cat, no resonator, no muffler

its retarded loud, but i get spool in any gear, at almost any rpm

if u haven't gotten a 3 inch line, go do it, right now... go...

END RANT....

What size diameter pipe were you running previous to the 3'' exhaust you are running now? If you were on stock exhaust, then yes,a 3'' exhaust will make a big difference.

yea.. i was stock, its like night and day, ill post vids of it tomorrow.
its soo loud, i don't recommend anyone running no cat, no muffler.
its just too loud, and raspy

however, i had my gf drive it, and you could clearly hear the turbo spool
it sounds like your behind a big truck, the kind you can hear the turbo spooling in each gear, no matter how lightly they get on the throttle

I love the sound of the turbine in the exhaust, even at idle.

Cat converter kills that sound btw.

I just ordered a Straight 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust no muffler from enthuza. I still have the stock greddy DP and a gutted cat. I'm hoping a 2.5" system once completed wont be too loud no cat no muffler. Get some vids up I need to hear how it sounds.

You would probably have been better off changing the DP and leaving the stock exhaust That Greddy DP is killing you big time, and a lot of it has to do with the way the flange is set up.

Magnaflow high-flow cat + Enthuza 3" FTMFW. Quick spool, awesome sound, and sounds like stock at anything under 1000rpm.

(this is a cold start)

Agreed.
OPEN stock Greddy DP downright sucks compared to a Tony DP with the stock exhaust bolted up.

Sav, needs more turbo whistle. :(

the no cat/resonator/muffler probably has about the same effect as going from 2" to 3"...

I saw you post over on CR.net and wondered how long until you wanted a muffler. I had an SRT-4 exhaust cut up under my car with no cat and no muffler. It wasn't bad at first, but after a few months it was too loud.

If you put a turbo style muffler on you shouldn't notice much difference in power. I had a 2.5" turbo back with a dynomax turbo style muffler, great tone and spool. The stock Greddy dp flange is stupid. Replacing that makes a huge difference (obviously).
