Had a great weekend! Epic finish, never thought we would be top 10! Lots of really experienced teams out there and the 100+ degree heat was a challenge. I installed a volt meter in the car and it had a thermometer on it, said it was 121* 10amin the car! Cool shirt is the best thing invented EVER! Got much worse in the afternoon.
Car is ready for more, need some brake pads and rotors and it could race again tomorrow. 150+K 1.6L shortblock....impressive. Drivers on the other hand need some rest, most of us planed a celebration last night and instead we ended up passing out for 15 hours, I don't think I have ever slept that long! Car is a little worse for where, everybody else but ME hit someone on track or got hit by someone on track. Its got little shorter (hit in back) and a nice tire mark on the door and we hammered out the front fender.....and someone bent up my license plate!
It was a great experience, driving VIR full course is great driving it at night is CRAZY! Chumpcar is a great experience and I recommend it to everyone! Its like a drag race that takes a day to run.
I bet your drivers appreciated the NACA ducts in the door. Whats the hose on the passenger side of the seat?
It is a fan, I could not get the floor to stay cool (out thermal barrier on exhaust) so I installed a "leg fan" worked great. Anyone who races miatas knows your right shoe could get so hot it starts to melt.
